Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Must Have Content

Gamers haven’t been able to train as a force-user since Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy in 2003. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed represents everything it means to command the field of energy that holds the galaxy together. Being a dark Jedi means there are no rules and no limits. Tucked in between the two trilogies, The Force Unleashed delivered a promotional campaign that slowly tied the two entities together, along with killing lots of stormtroopers. These are the highlights of the long road to being Darth Vader’s apprentice.

Force Power Pre-Vis

This wasn’t gameplay, and it didn’t pretend to be. Two years before launch, and 10 months before we would see actual gameplay, this footage set an early benchmark for the level of destruction LucasArts was shooting for. It was also the first known rendering of a stormtrooper being thrown into a TIE fighter.

Euphoria Engine Tech Demo

By tossing more Imperial soldiers to their doom, LucasArts showcased the most exciting development in its master plan: a level of awareness that allowed stormtroopers to defend themselves (or at least try) from the force’s might. Along with a demo of Digital Molecular Matter, Force Unleashed proved it was pushing the limits of Jedi-tech.

E3 2007 Trailer

Yoda made it very clear: size matters not. In the skies over Coruscant, a Star Destroyer meets its match as the apprentice drops it to the ground at his feet, in the most iconic piece of footage used to promote the game. Eye-catching gameplay follows immediately afterward, featuring lots of force pushing, saber chucking, and rancor dueling.

A New Chapter: The Story of The Force Unleashed

Any trailer that has a spoiler alert before the Publisher logo is going to deliver the goods. If you can’t wait to experience the story for yourself, this overview reveals the major characters and details the first few levels from the game. It also promises even more surprises.

Launch Trailer

Released two months before the actual launch date, this trailer drove out more plot points and hidden conspiracies, along with crushing an ATST like tissue paper. Additional combos and powers were weaved into the cinema clips creating the ultimate question - will the apprentice defeat the master?

Exclusive Massacre Gameplay Parts I – V

If you still haven’t gotten a chance to play The Force Unleashed demo, then here is a five-part tour of carnage through a TIE Fighter construction facility--the second level in the game. No stormtrooper is left alive and no force power is ignored.

World Exclusive Trailer (GTTV)

If you’ve finished The Force Unleashed demo, you saw this final glimpse at more bosses, worlds, and destruction first-seen in an episode of GameTrailers TV on Spike. It’s the perfect tease to end a tantalizing one-level run as a dark-side champion of the force.

Exclusive Felucia Gameplay

There are not many examples of the Molecular Matter in the Force Unleashed greater than the spongy, mushroom-capped caves of Felucia. Watch this two-minute, un-cut gameplay clip to get a feel for how the game is played, and what it means to subjugate mysterious alien races with the power of the force.
