Fryatt: Three and easy

Leicester City continue to look a solid bet for the League One title after Matty Fryatt's second hat-trick of the week secured a 3-0 win over Southend.

Nigel Pearson's Foxes cemented their spot at the summit courtesty of yet another outstanding performance from Fryatt, whose treble against Southend took his tally to 22 for the season. Expect the vultures to circle in January.

MK Dons will be disappointed not to extend their winning run to seven after falling to defeat at home to Scunthorpe; a result that sees Millwall leapfrog over them into second after a 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers.

Ian Morris' fine strike from the edge of the area in the 77th minute and a late effort from Garry Thompson was enough to see Nigel Adkins' Iron return to winning ways at MK Dons, while a brace from Tresor Kandol was key to Millwall's success at The Den.

Oldham's 1-1 draw with ten-man Brighton ended a three-game winning run for John Sheridan's side, while at the same time putting a halt to the Seagulls' three-match losing streak.

The result at Boundary Park allows Peterborough to climb a place to fourth after in-form hit-man Craig Mackail-Smith's 14th goal of the campaign helped to secure a 3-1 victory at Stockport.

Leeds continue to flatter to deceive as old boy Ian Moore scored a stunning winner for Tranmere, despite Gary McAllister's side taking the lead at Prenton Park.

Greg Abbott's first game as Carlisle's permanent manager ended in a 1-1 draw at Swindon, as Paul Thirwell's late leveller condemned Swindon to a fifth stalemate in six games.

Drissa Diallo was Cheltenham's hero in the battle of the basement dwellers at Whaddon Road, with Crewe having not won in the league since September.

Hereford secured only their fourth league win of the season as they won 2-1 at fellow strugglers Colchester United, while Hartlepool's 0-0 stalemate with Yeovil will not live long in the memory.

Walsall failed to make ground on the play-off pack as Michael Collins' late goal earned Huddersfield an impressive 2-1 win at The Galpharm.

At Sixfields, Northampton and Leyton Orient could not be separated, as JJ Melligan's goal three minutes from the half-time break cancelled out Liam Davis' early opener for the Cobblers.
