In January 2008, Sarah Joy Brown returned to the cast of General Hospital in a new role as Claudia Zacchara, the feisty, determined and sexy daughter of mobster Anthony and half-sister of Johnny. She has come to town to claim her rightful place with the family and immediately becomes the main rival to Port Charles mob boss Sonny Corinthos.
An Emmy®-winning actress, Ms. Brown began her acting career at the prestigious Los Angeles High School for the Performing Arts. While attending college, Sarah was chosen as the series lead on the popular children's series VR Troopers, which aired worldwide, making her a household name with children everywhere. Two short years later, Sarah auditioned for a lead role on the ABC Daytime series General Hospital and got the part of Carly Benson. For five years, her portrayal of the character made Sarah one of daytime TV's most memorable actresses. For her hard work, she won three Daytime Emmys® out of four nominations.
In April 2001, Ms. Brown made the decision to pursue new challenges beyond daytime television and started to appear in many hit television series including the two-part, highest rated season finale of The Closer and a role as Cole Hauser's love interest on K-Ville. She has also been seen in the special black and white episode of Monk, as a series regular on Cold Case and in a recurring role on Without a Trace. Other appearances include the hit movie sequel Big Momma's House 2, the movie-of-the-week The Perfect Husband and the long-running daytime drama As The World Turns. Sarah also has an impressive list of stage credits including Much Ado About Nothing, The Rainmaker and Cyrano de Bergerac.
Born in Eureka, CA, and raised in Los Angeles, Brown currently lives in Los Angeles with her daughter. In her spare time, she likes to paint, play the piano and guitar, practice yoga, cook, see live music and theater, sing Karaoke and study Spanish.
