If they took off the lables, I would have seriously had a hard time to tell in some of the parts. Halo 3, of course looks better than Halo 2, but not a whole lot.

altho i dont like halo that much, I must say, the graphics on halo 3 have improved a lot.. over the halo 2 game.. after all they are using a lot more computer power. Halo 3 still on beta stage tho... so the graphics will change before the release ;).. and then i want to see people talking bs :)

just a little bit crisper, though it is noticable, I'm still wondering if they'll put a more modern combat shotgun, rather that some piece that still uses a pump action. Really as weapons go there are things like semi auto and even full auto shotguns, not to mention one's that can hold insane amounts of ammo.

its funny how most of the detractors are ps3 fangirls who dont even own a 360. telling them its only a beta doesnt work with these fangirls, they are insecure about their ps3 purchase so they must trash the 360 for validation..

Halo 3 looks better, that should be expected, what is throwing alot of people off I think is the fact that the art direction is identical, so they assume the game as a whole is the same. While it may not be a "next-gen" leap it seems to be yet another solid entry in the legendary series.

not much of a difference here but if you watch the hd version you can see the differences much easier. Plus it's only the beta. The graphics will definitely recieve it's final touchups when it comes out.

looks good but you have to remember that halo has a comic book style for graphics and its never going to look like Resistence or Gears but this game does look very good for a beta

Everything looks More kik ass in halo 3 except the Dual wielding smgs. I thing the smgs look Funner to use and more powerful(better) in halo 2 and in halo 3 they look like pussy weapons

I love the Halo 3 beta, it plays very nicely, much better than the first two. Graphics look great, especially in HD. Some polishing still could be used, which they are working on... this is only beta. Even so it plays very smoothly. Well, back to playing adios :P

It's a terrific shooter, and nothing can beat halo for multiplayer, however the graphics arn't quite what i was expecting, GOW was the sorta quality i was expecting. Still, this is only a Beta, lets see how the final product looks

doesnt look that much different to me, better lighting and all but really it seems like an expansion pack to me..Like the High Def expansion for Half Life, thats what it looks like to me, a few new weapons and such, maybea new mode or two and basicly not much of a change, though I found Halo in all to be a boring game so im not the best to know I guess

It's gameplay is the basically the same so that's good as long as it's fun, but I'm dissapointed in the graphics. All that I notice is that it's sharper and it's slightly better detailed. IN other words, it sucks. I expected better outta the graphics.

The difference is even greater when you're playing it on a HDTV.
I really like the flowing water and lighting in this beta. Sound is amazing. There are some really good environmental effect on near and distant voices, weapons fire and explosions. No doubt the single-player game will be denser and scaled up with more intense HDR and atmospheric effects, but there are loads of nifty features in the game already.

Good Comparison. But, in all honesty, and I'm pretty sure you can all agree. It does just look like a Halo 2.5. As long as the gameplay is still addicting. I'm all for it. Would've been nice to see a major upgrade visually.

If you have been playing in the beta you would see that it truly is 10 times better looking than halo 2.
Hell even the trees bend and wobble when you brush up along them, and it's a freaking beta... still the best looking FPS I've played in a while... also resistance looks like crap so don't even compare fanboys.

Some of you X box guys may think this is blasphemy but to me it looks like the same game exactly but shinier. the game seems to move exactly the same, which i think is far too slow. The guns have never been very nice ot use unlike Black in which all the guns are great.
IMO They could have done far better using the 360's capabilities. I reckon this game Won't beat Gears of war or The darkness both of which are making me think of getting a 360 as well as a PS3

Honestly? I'm not impressed. Yes, Halo 3 looks much better than Halo 2 visually, but it's not the generational leap I would have expected. This game looks like a first gen 360 game, IMO. However, I'm sure the gameplay will more than make up for that.

i agree, when watching that video i actually couldn't tell when it was switching from halo 2 to halo 3 and back again, if it didn't have the name on the bottom and i wasn't concentrating hard i wouldn't have noticed the switch, i mean yes there is a bit of a leap in graphics but as already said it's not as great as i was hoping for or expecting. the gameplay will rock though so thats always good

Just so you know the halo 3 footage is from the multiplayer BETA alpha build. The alpha build is more than a year old. They did much more improvement in the real game. So you are wrong and right. The beta isnt much better than halo 2 but the main game is. BTW 8 more days. Halo FTW. Note the Beta Build in the bottom middle of the screen right above the halo 3.

You guys now that the beta was a crappy alpha build with the graphics no way near finished. Also, can you imagine the size of the download if beta was fully done? jesus christ. They would never upload something that size on live.

waste a time, we all already know that there isn't gona be much diff from halo2 to halo3 beta, and ive seen footage of actual gameplay from the "real" game and it looks nothing like this so for you fansboys don't worry your precious halo3 won't look like this.

i used to hate halo series cuz i had so much spactative about the game.. people talking about it saying is the best game ever.. but i was disappointed once i spend my 60 bucks in it.. the single player mission its so boring.... just another fps.. but once i played it with my boyz it was a lot of fun... now im addicted to online multiplayer mode... every battle gets so intense as your rank goes up u face people with higher ranks... shit is crazy... i just want to be on the top... social matches are fun too .. and i love the fact that there is no host advantage like gears of war.. which i also like.. i just grew tired of hosts host-killing you and then bragging about it.

Cause this vid is pointless, almost...
The graphics are crisper, smoother and in quite a few places more detailed, everything looks brighter and seems to have had more polygons added into them.
Considering that this is just the beta, theyve already made a big step in improving the visuals, I cant wait to see the final product.

I really like the flowing water and lighting in this beta. Sound is amazing. There are some really good environmental effect on near and distant voices, weapons fire and explosions. No doubt the single-player game will be denser and scaled up with more intense HDR and atmospheric effects, but there are loads of nifty features in the game already.
I hope they can add a little AF in the final game though.
Hell even the trees bend and wobble when you brush up along them, and it's a freaking beta... still the best looking FPS I've played in a while... also resistance looks like crap so don't even compare fanboys.

IMO They could have done far better using the 360's capabilities. I reckon this game Won't beat Gears of war or The darkness both of which are making me think of getting a 360 as well as a PS3
Halo aint for everyone dumbass, GoW wasnt very good (yeah ive beaten it), the darkness isnt the best game but it looks awsome, the games guns are fine, remember its not Black its not any other shooter, its Halo not a normal FPS, and from what ive seen but Halo 3 isnt out yet and seems to have beaten GoW
i agree, when watching that video i actually couldn't tell when it was switching from halo 2 to halo 3 and back again, if it didn't have the name on the bottom and i wasn't concentrating hard i wouldn't have noticed the switch, i mean yes there is a bit of a leap in graphics but as already said it's not as great as i was hoping for or expecting. the gameplay will rock though so thats always good
