A Dedication: The following letter was sent to me, to be posted on the site. It's supposed to be a dedication for the one year anniversary of this website:

Success sorta snuck up on my buddy Det like a windshield sneaks up on a bug. When he first created TGS he expected that a lot of people would visit it, but things seemed to take on a life of their own once the site was discovered. It is kinda like discovering a gold mine for us, the patrons - except the precious metal was that of the in depth beta coverage he supplied to us all. DetErest is like the Leonado Da Vinci of all Goldeneye sites - he knew just what the public wanted and how to get it to them. How I was first introduced to the site I do not remember, but I knew it was back in the day when it was brand-spanking new place and everytime you visited it was updated again. I once asked him how he pulled off such feats to attract the public, but he told me that it was his own secret and that I would have to come and kill him before I would know. Det is mysterious like that, especially with questions about himself. Well, I hope as you sit and read this that you think of all those brilliant ideas that bloomed into his mind a little more than one year ago when he decided, "hey, why don't I make a Goldeneye site?"

I just wanted to e-mail you and tell you what a fantastic site you have, easily the Best Goldneye site on the net. I have a few comments and questions. I don't know if its just my connection but there are a couple of pages I can't get in on your page, particularly the beta pages which intersest me the most. Also, I heard from a video game site, I think videogames.com, that there was a movie of the Citadel level and also they said that it was almost in the final game complete with May Day and Oddjob. Is this true, and if it is how could I download the video? I just wanted to ask you a few questions. What is your favorite single and multiplayer level, code, and element that was taken out of the final game? I was just wondering because I ask all of my friends those same questions. Thanks

Det> Many pages stopped working, because the server introduced a new 'case sensitive' method for files. For example, the links I made to 'BetaFrigate' no longer worked, because the files actual name was 'betafrigate'. There is no Citadel movie clip. It was probably never even intended for completion, only testing. If there was a movie, I would know about it, and it would be posted here.

I think that Goldeneye is the better game. Perfect Dark improved on everything, but Goldeneye's missions seem to have had more replay value to them than the PD missions.

Det> Thanks. The beta version has nothing to do with play of the game at all, but it is the Goldeneye topic that information is requested on the most. Most people have enjoyed the beta sections that I've put together, and appreciate the work that went into them. The release of Perfect Dark has swallowed up some of my free time that would otherwise be spent working on my Goldeneye site. But there's always more stuff for Goldeneye to add to my site, and I'm not taking the site down, moving it, or replacing it like so many people have expected me to do.

Hey, let me start off by saying amazing site! It's one of the best out there. Anyways, the reason I am writing, is to inform you about the supposed way to get the All Bonds cheat, found in the official gaming mag. (April issue of EGM2, now Expert Gamer). I have this issue of EGM2, and I have tried the trick. The trick didn't work. I was able to complete it, and it was hard. Also, EGM2 has been known for false codes. But the reason why they put the fake codes in the first place, all has to do with one thing, April. As in April fools. Well, great site, and I hope you keep up the good work!

Det> Yes, from what I've gathered, EGM is know for jokes like that on April Fool's Day. But I think what really sparked the fire, was that the Bonds did exist at one time, and you can access the pictures with a Gameshark. So it would make sense that you could earn them, right? But I know lots of people who have completed the level (Aztec, 007, Enemy settings at the highest), myself included, just for fun, and nothing happens.

Det> I barely manage enough free time to put together these updates, and once finished, I have to wait until I have the time to sit and wait for all the new files to upload. And to top that off, any new info I post is immediately taken by other sites and posted on their own, with no link, credit or acknowledgement. So if you like this site, hassle those other sites into finding their stuff somewhere else, and not just relying on this site to build their own from. It's too bad that a few people spoil it for everyone else.

Det> Instead of "buttocks", why not use the word "ass"? A lot less typing that way... And sites get first and second because of the number of votes they receive. It gives a rough estimate, but just because a site is in second with 92 votes a day, it doesn't mean that it isn't completely lame.

I love the layout of your site, it's easy to move around and find things in.
