Boom Blox

Developer: EA Los Angeles
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Rating: E

So you've put in your standard 8,000 hours on Wii Sports, brought your little white box around to all your friends and family, and are now looking for another family-friendly game to get your groove on with? Why not put Grandma's newly-found arm strength to the test in EA's Boom Blox? Mixing a simple concept of throwing objects at stacks of blocks, EA's “reverse Jenga” offering is instantly accessible, delightfully strategic, but still extremely fun in its simplicity. Creation modes keep things fresh, tiny Blox creatures add a little distraction for younger players, but the reliable (and fun) blending of IR pointer and motion control makes this one an instant classic for laid back, local play. If you own a Wii, you should own Boom Blox.
