Notes: James started his career as a boy growing up on the streets of Shanghai, drawing with anything that would make a mark. In 1985, his family made their way to the US, where his doodling was allowed to continue through middle school, high school, and eventually art school.
After graduation, the childhood hobby turned into his full time profession as a concept artist with LucasArts Entertainment Company in 1998. His first title was the hit PS2 title: Star Wars: Starfighter. Since then, he has worked on several best selling and critically acclaimed video games (Republic Commando, Gladius, Knights of the Old Republic 2), as well as stints in producing art for films such as Kill Bill. His book illustration credits include Stephen Hawkings’ Briefer History of Time and the Dungeons and Dragons RPG series.
He currently resides in San Francisco California with his snake, his cat, and his girlfriend. None of them bite.
