DR. MICHAEL W. ALLEN - CEO

Michael W. Allen, PhD is chairman and CEO of Allen Interactions Inc. that builds universally acclaimed custom e-learning solutions, provides strategic learning consulting, and trains e-learning professionals in collaboration with the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).

With a PhD in educational psychology from The Ohio State University, Michael W. Allen has pioneered multimedia learning technologies, interactive instructional paradigms, and rapid-prototyping processes, bringing each forward into leading corporate enterprises. He is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, a popular conference speaker, and a prolific writer. The latest book and second volume in Michael Allen’s E-Learning Library Series is Designing Successful e-Learning – Forget What You Know About Instructional Design and Do Something Interesting. He is also editor of Michael Allen’s e-Learning Annual, an essential source of guidance, opinions, and best practices on issues of interest and concern to e-learning professionals, available the fifteenth of February.

 

  MARTIN LIPSHUTZ - PRESIDENT
  Mr. Lipshutz has served as the President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of Allen Interactions since November 1995. He has more than 13 years of experience successfully building financial, accounting, sales, and operating organizations. From December 1991 to October 1995, he was the Chief Financial Officer at ViroMed Laboratories, Inc. From May 1989 to November 1991 he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Authorware, Inc. From May 1983 to April 1989 he held various senior management positions in sales, operations, and finance at The Jefferson Company. From January 1980 to February 1983 he was an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand, LLP.Mr. Lipshutz holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa.
  JOHN WELSH - VICE PRESIDENT, SALES & MARKETING
 

R. John Welsh, Jr. is currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Allen Interactions Inc. He is responsible for leading the sales and marketing effort for Allen Interactions and expanding its penetration into Global 2000 and mid-market companies.

As an accomplished senior executive with more than 20 years of expertise with e-learning, CRM, business applications, tools, technology, outsourcing and professional services, John has worked with hundreds of Fortune 500 organizations delivering performance-based and behavior changing strategic consulting services. With his extensive experience selling and leading implementations of large, complex solutions to “C-level” executives, he has achieved a successful track record of exceeding corporate revenue and profit goals.

His previous employers include Control Data, Portera Systems, Connect Computer   and Orion Consulting. In addition to earning a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from St. John's University, John holds master's degrees in business administration and international management from the University of St. Thomas, and is currently attending Capella University working towards his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership.   He is a frequent speaker at the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Symposium on topics including human capital investment, talent and performance leadership, as well as behavior changing learning solutions.

He is past president of the St. John's University Alumni Board and the St. Thomas Academy Alumni Board. He was also a varsity assistant football and baseball coach at St. Thomas Academy from 1992-2000, and is currently a high school and NCAA football official.
