Sky Sports is the only place to see live coverage of a massive year of cricket in England. The world's top teams will be here in June to contest the ICC World Twenty20 before cricket's most eagerly-awaited series, The Ashes, starts in July. When Australia last visited these shores the Test series was arguably one of the most exciting in history. England were victorious, but with Australia winning back the Ashes two years later Kevin Pietersen's men face another titanic battle to reclaim the precious urn.
The British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa will be exclusively live on Sky Sports in 2009. London Wasps' Ian McGeechan coaches the Lions who face the formidable world champions in their own backyard. The warm-up games and all three Tests are live on Sky Sports and Sky Sports HD, starting on 30th May 2009.
The ATP World Tour Masters 1000 begins in the New Year and, with all the nine competitions live plus the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals from London in November 2009, Sky Sports will continue to be the place to follow Andy Murray's meteoric rise up the world rankings. Murray won two of the nine Masters Series events last year which lifted him to fourth in the world. Can the Scot break into the top three in 2009? Plus, we'll bring you live coverage of the US Open at Flushing Meadows from 31 August.
Live and high definition coverage of the second golf major of the year, the US Open, will be live on Sky Sports in June. Tiger Woods won in dramatic style last year, with a badly injured leg, and the world number one could be fit to rejoin the world's best players at the tricky Bethpage Black course.
