DISTURBED Clip Too "Disturbing" For Video Outlets

DISTURBED's clip for the track "Prayer", which was directed by the Brothers Strause last month, has reportedly been refused by certain video outlets, who have deemed the scenes in the video—including those depicting collapsing construction sites, car crashes and a cataclysmic earthquake—as too reminiscent of those of last September 11th, according to MTV.com. As a result, DISTURBED are making plans to create an alternate video for the song in time for the September release of the group's new album, Believe, either by radically re-editing the original video, or shooting a performance video for the track. DISTURBED will film their August 7th show at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and if the footage is good enough, it's likely that it will be used for the video, a spokesperson for the band said.
Believe, due in the stores on September 17th, will contain the following track listing:

02. Liberate
03. Awaken
04. Believe
05. Remember
06. Intoxication
07. Rise
08. Mistress
09. Breathe
10. Bound
11. Devour
12. Darkness

Heard the song Prayer...it sounds hot. Can't wait til the new album but MTV (as usual) sucks ass. Disturbed should screw MTV airplay and make it available on DVD only so people could go out and buy it and support them that way. Or have them play it on MuchMusic or some other worthy channel.

I think a good idea for the next Disturbed video is for DD to not be in it. What I find disturbing is his face. At least the new song song doesn't have monkey noises. This band is way to overrated.

I like the song, but this is a band that might end up being ruined by it's trend-following crowd. Disturbed will play 'Prayer,' and all it's idiot trendies will say is "this doesn't sound like 'Stupify' so I don't like it!"

I hate all of you death metal fans, so cocky, like you have or will ever make anything better than disturbed has. You can write music and make it as complicated as you want, but if it doesn't sound good, it is never going to be good. You claim to know so much about music, yet you describe some of it as "gay", or "ball licking", among other phrases you learned from watching south park when your mommy and daddy were asleep. You need to die, now, I can't stand being ridiculed by you anymore for my music tastes.

I was gonna' say I've never seen so many one word titles on a cd. Anyway, I'm not a fan of disturbed or anything, but do they absolutely HAVE to have a video on MTV? I mean, why can't they just release that video for their fans, and just say "fuck mtv, we don't need to give them a video." Man, almost every band today listen and do whatever their big corporate record labels tell them to do. Does any nu band have a mind of their own? There needs to be more bands with a Henry Rollins, Glenn Danzig, Phil Anselmo, slayer no-sellout attitude.

I just skimmed it quickly, so I got the impression that MTV was refusing it, when it was actually video stores refusing it? It's still bullshit. The same stores will keep their inventory full of war movies and other violent shit. I hate when businesses feel the need to take a moral stance on the product they are selling.

Since that single is a religious song, maybe Disturbed will become the next Creed. I mean, the singer's already got the ego and the guitarist has a PRS guitar.
