Expect electric bills to go up in June.

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) yesterday approved a P1.0354 per kilowatt-hour increase in the rate that the state-run power company charges for electricity starting April 26.

It’s the wrong way to spend P2.5 billion, if you ask them. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines lambasted yesterday the governments plan to spend P2.5 billion to buy, propagate and distribute condoms and contraceptives, saying the money should instead be used to build houses and programs for the poor.
