TERRY JENKINS defeated Mark Dudbridge 6-3 to win the Bobby Bourn Memorial Players Championship at The Dome in Doncaster on Saturday.

World number five Jenkins claimed his second PDC Pro Tour title in three months with a fine display in the final to claim the £6,000 first prize.

Jenkins becomes the first player other than Phil Taylor to win the Bobby Bourn Memorial event, which was founded in memory of the late PDC official in 2003 and has moved from being staged in Blackpool in July to form the start of the 2009 PDC Pro Tour.

Jenkins took a key 2-0 lead in the final, before Dudbridge landed maximums in successive legs to level.

Checkouts of 96 and 104 put Jenkins 4-2 up, and though Dudbridge hit back the Ledbury man hit a 116 finish to move to the brink of victory before taking out double 18 for the win.

Jenkins had defeated Robert Thornton in the semi-finals, with the Scotsman having earlier hit a ten-dart leg in his quarter-final win over Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts debutant Jelle Klaasen.

American John Kuczynski defeated Kirk Shepherd, Mervyn King and Andy Jenkins to reach the quarter-finals, before going down 6-4 to Dudbridge.

Lloyd bounced back from his first round exit in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship in style to reach the quarter-finals, where Jenkins came from 4-0 down to claim a deciding set victory.

Andy Hamilton was the other quarter-final loser, going down 6-2 to Andy Smith - who had earlier taken out 135 to win a deciding leg against Justin Pipe.

World number four John Part was a 6-5 loser to Dudbridge in the last 16, while Adrian Lewis lost to Thornton by the same scoreline in the second round after missing 12 darts for the win in the deciding leg.

Anastasia Dobromyslova's first PDC Pro Tour appearance since joining the PDC circuit full-time last month saw her defeat Andy Relf 6-1 and Kevin Reade 6-3 before she lost to Stuart Dutton.

Sunday sees the first Blue Square UK Open Regional Final of 2009 take place at The Dome.
