Jets-Broncos: The Breakdown
by Dave Hutchinson/The Star-Ledger

QB Brett Favre has always been at his best when he's getting rid of the ball quickly, firing slants, working the tight end underneath and throwing an occasional deep ball, and that's exactly what the Jets have been doing the past three weeks.
Favre has thrown just one interception in the past three games and is completing 77 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and the interception. Rookie TE Dustin Keller has emerged as Favre's go-to guy with 20 catches for 236 yards and a touchdown in the past three games.

From Shaun Ellis to Kerry Rhodes to Sione Pouha (who?), the no-frills sack parade has left no pass rusher behind. The Jets have had a league-high 16 players who have recorded at least a half a sack this season.
"It's just out of control," said defensive tackle C.J. Mosley (1 1/2 sacks). "Guys are coming out of nowhere."
The Jets -- who rank third in the NFL with 34 sacks -- will face their toughest challenge Sunday in Nashville, Tenn., against a Tennessee Titans offensive line that has allowed a league-low six sacks.

Consider this the one and only stop you need to get all the information before tonight's Jets-Patriots game, which will be broadcast at 8:15 p.m. on Ch. 11 and on the NFL Network.
Today's paper
QB Brett Favre and rookie TE Dustin Keller have a little chemistry brewing.
The Jets, new and old, aren't dwelling on their somewhat bleak history against the Pats.
Meanwhile, Patriots' QB Matt Cassel is getting comfortable leading New England.

WEDNESDAY: The arrival of Ty Law is expected to give the Jets more options in the defensive secondary.
Star-Ledger columnist sees tonight's game a golden opportunity to send the Pats a message about the changing tide of this rivalry.
Even the Patriots themselves acknowledged that they'll need to bring their "A" game to come out on top tonight.
TUESDAY: The short week wasn't short on practice time as the team got right to work readying for the Pats.
Tonight's game will be a good barometer of whether the Jets' offseason spending spree has paid off.
It was a bad break -- literally -- for the Pats to lose Adalius Thomas to a broken arm.

Newspaper articles this week
SATURDAY: Starting with the Bills, the Jets are facing the toughest stretch of their schedule. In addition to a trip to Buffalo, they face road games against the Patriots and Titans.
FRIDAY: Brandon Moore has been the Jets' most consistent offensive lineman this season, and David Bowens is ready to play if David Harris can't go. And if you were looking for a fix from the Bills this week, former Giant LB Kawika Mitchell has shown he's fitting in nicely.
THURSDAY: Second-year CB Darrelle Revis doesn't get tested much by the Jets' opponents, a sign of respect. Also, in the secondary, another hard hit on S Eric Smith likely will keep him out of the Bills game.
WEDNESDAY: The Jets made significant money -- but didn't sell out -- during an auction of the PSLs for their Coaches Club section.
TUESDAY: Looking for some rhyme or reason in the Jets' offensive play-calling? Forget about it. And coach Eric Mangini likes it that way.
