Lions to pick first, 20th in first round

The Detroit Lions will have two of the top 20 picks in the annual NFL draft, according to a preliminary draft order released Monday.

A day after finishing with the first 0-16 record in NFL history, the Lions learned they will have the No. 1 overall pick as well as the No. 20 pick. The latter comes via the October trade that sent receiver Roy Williams to Dallas.

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos won the tiebreaker among five teams that finished 8-8 and will choose No. 12 overall. Similarly, the New York Jets won the tiebreaker among five 9-7 teams and will pick No. 17.

Draft-order ties are resolved by the cumulative record of each team's opponents. The team with the weaker opponents receives drafting priority. Below is the current draft order, which could change based on playoff results:
