The Board of Trustees of Pascack Valley Hospital Association recently made the difficult but necessary decision to file a petition under Chapter 11 of the U. S. Bankruptcy Code. Pascack Valley Hospital’s attorneys completed the petition under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark at 12:45 p.m., September 24, 2007.

The decision to file for Chapter 11 protection was made as the result of several years of significant operating losses, and a non-reversible liquidity crisis. As the hospital was unsuccessful in finding a strategic partner, it was necessary to close the institution’s entire operation.

As of Wednesday, November 21, at 3 p.m., Pascack Valley Hospital, located at 250 Old Hook Road in Westwood, NJ, no longer offers clinical services.

The hospital worked closely with the State Department of Health & Senior Services to ensure an orderly and safe termination of the hospital’s programs and services.
