The MCV Industry Excellence Awards return on Thursday, April 10th. But what are the categories, and how does anyone win? INDEPENDENT RETAIL

Who is eligible for this award?
This award is open to any independent games or computer retailer active on the High Street or online. A solus store can win, but the retailer must not have more than 50 outlets in total.

How is this award won?
MCV will take soundings from the industry and consider any direct lobbying from retailers, suppliers or general readers before announcing a set of Finalists on Friday, March 7th.

The winner is voted for by the Judging Panel, which will consist of at least 60 highly regarded industry executives taken from all sectors of the business.

Members of the jury vote in confidence and are only revealed after voting is complete. They cannot vote for themselves or associated companies.

Judges will consider the following criteria:
● Customer service
● Product knowledge
● Range
● Window and in-store merchandising

SPECIALIST GAMES RETAILER

Who is eligible for this award?
This award is open to any specialist games retailer active on the High Street or online.

The winner is voted for by the Judging Panel, which will consist of at least 60 highly regarded industry executives taken from all sectors of the business.

This award is open to a single local branch of any retailer of computer and video games products – inclusive of specialist independents and chains.

MCV will take soundings from the industry and, importantly at this stage, direct instruction from retail management – who will nominate their top stores, before announcing a set of Finalists on Friday, March 7th.

The winner is voted for by the Judging Panel, which will consist of at least 60 highly regarded industry executives taken from all sectors of the business.

Members of the jury vote in confidence and are only revealed after voting is complete. They cannot vote for themselves or associated companies.

Judges will consider the following criteria:
● Sales performance
● Product knowledge
● Customer service
● In-store merchandising
