Questions on 'Angel Feathers'

To the Reader: The following questionnaire was made possible in part by Christians within the field of apologetics, cult-evangelism, and research. Their advice and observations proved to be a valuable contribution, and is deeply appreciated.

If you are involved in the signs and wonders movement and believe you have experienced "supernatural manifestations" in the form of "angel feathers," please read the article, Feathers from Heaven? Afterwards, read the following questions carefully, and rely on God's written word as your ultimate and final authority.

Your answers and comments are welcomed. Please forward them to Bud Press at admin@christianresearchservice.com .

Sincerely in Christ,

1. God created the angels (Psalm 33:6; Psalm 148:1-6). Before his fall, Lucifer was an "anointed cherubim" angel (Ezekiel 28:14). When Lucifer fell, one-third of the angels were thrown out of heaven with him, and became demonic angels (Isaiah chapter 14; Ezekiel chapter 28).

Question: If all of the angels have wings and feathers (as many believe), how does one determine the difference between a heavenly angel feather and a demonic angel feather?

2. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe. Romans 1:20 teaches: For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

Question: Does God really need "angel feathers" to prove his existence, power and authority?

3. The word "seraphim" occurs only twice in Scripture (Isaiah 6:2 and 6:6). The word "cherubim" occurs 58 times in Scripture. The seraphim and cherubim have wings.

Question: Where does the Bible mention that cherubim and seraphim have "feathers"?

4. Specifically, where does the Bible teach that "angel feathers" are a part of signs and wonders and supernatural manifestations?

5. Look at the feathers in this photo ( http://tinyurl.com/57jybx ). Which are from angels and which are from birds?

6. Of the believer, Isaiah 40:31 says, But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (KJV, emp. added).

Question: Does this mean that Old Testament believers and New Testament Christians have invisible wings on their backs and can fly?

7. Psalm 17:8 says, Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 91:4 says, He will cover you with His pinions [feathers], and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark (NASB, emp. added).

Question: Since God is Triune (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), do these Scriptures mean that each Person in the Trinity has wings and feathers?

8. Angels are celestial beings. If an angel's "body" includes feathers, would it be subject to molting (shedding its feathers) like a common bird?

9. Are angels and birds separate creations of God?

10. Are all feathers from angels? If not, what distinguishes an "angel feather" from a bird feather?

11. In Matthew 24:24, Jesus said, For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. What did Jesus mean?

12. Where does the Bible teach that angels or God make feathers appear supernaturally as a sign and wonder?

13. The Bible says that the cherubim and seraphim have wings. What do their wings look like and what are they made of?

14. Gabriel and the Archangel Michael are heavenly angels. Where in the Bible does it say they have wings and feathers?

15. Hebrews 13:2 reads, Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Question: Is this a photo of a real angel with wings? ( Click here ) Does the photo coincide with Hebrews 13:2?

16. Are feathers necessary for flight? What about bats and winged insects? ( Click here and here )

17. In the King James Version Bible, the word "feathers" is used seven times. The word "feathered" is used twice. Which Scripture(s) pertain to angels having feathers?

18. Do you claim to have "angel feathers"? If so, are you willing to submit them to scientific analysis? Would you change your thinking if the feathers are, in reality, bird feathers?
