The International Nail Expo 08 in Tokyo was held last November to showcase all the latest designs and styles in nail art. In Japan, designing nails with piercings, textured motifs, glitter, crystals, beads, and other stunning accessories is the latest and hottest fashion trend especially among the Shibuya ganguro set.  The Japan Nailist Association was on hand to popularize nail art by organizing nail art seminars, festivals and contests for fashionable Japanese ladies

Jpop artist Koda Kumi was selected as one of Nail Queens (along with TV talento Becky and actress Ryoko Yonekura, fashion model Ann Watanabe and Jpop singer Daigo representing the men) at the Nail Queen Award Ceremony. According to Koda Kumi, her nail art is inspired by traditional kimonos from her hometown, Kyoto.

Yuri Ebihara’s graduation to AneCam

Yuri Ebihara

When gorgeous Japanese fashion model Yuri Ebihara (known in Japan as Ebi-chan) turned 29 last year, Japanese publisher Shogakukan “graduated” her from CanCam magazine to AneCan magazine.

AneCan

AneCan is the “older sister” version of the original magazine launched last year with CanCam model  Moe Oshikiri 押切もえ targeting Japanese women in the mid twenties to mid thirties and features more grown up adult fashions.

Shogakukan publicized a final CanCam photo shoot and a graduation party at Omotesando’s Saint Grace Cathedral in which lucky readers of the magazine were able to attend.

BTW, Ebi-chan is still single and looking for her ideal mate.

CanCam models appear on TeleCan TV Asahi

 Telecan Cancam TV show

Maybe you missed it but late last month on November 22, Japanese actor Masaru Nagai 永井大 was sporting a big grin on his face because he was surrounded by top Japanese fashion models from CanCam キャンキャン magazine on TV Asahi’s new monthly TV show TeleCan テレキャン.

The show is about fashion (suprise!) and gourmet food though lots of Japanese ladies and men will be watching it for the beautiful models. The show featured popular CanCam models Maki Nishiyama 西山茉希, Naoko Tokuzawa and Miyu Azama  安座間美優 (also known as Mew Azama or Myuu Azama) . However, fans of CanCam and AneCan models Yu Yamada 山田優 , Moe Oshikiri 押切もえ  and Yuri Ebihara 蛯原友里  will not be disappointed as they are scheduled to appear on the show too.

The second episode is scheduled to air in later this month.
