Henin was described as being the, "...pound for pound the best tennis player of her generation," by none other than Billie Jean King. She used a devastating one-handed backhand and her superb athletic conditioning to wear down opponents. John McEnroe often commented that her backhand shot was the best in tennis, for both men or women players. Fans and fellow players knew her by the nickname "Juju", and she had four runners-up finishes in Grand Slam finals as well. Inspired by witnessing Steffi Graf's 1992 French Open final loss to Monica Seles, Henin's matches with Kim Clijsters were some of the best groundstroke tennis matches in women's history.
