District 2 is most of southeast Colorado, minus the City of Pueblo. A majority of the population resides in Fremont, Otero, and the rest of Pueblo County. The portion of Pueblo County in this district is largely agricultural, with the major exception of the Pueblo Ordinance Depot for the U.S. Army. Fremont County is the prison capitol of the world, home of the Supermax prison and 12 other prisons, making it one of the main sources of employment in the area. Fremont County also has the Royal Gorge Park, with the world's highest suspension bridge. You can pay to cross it, but it goes nowhere. Otero County is a fertile region for agriculture, with towns situated along the three railroad lines that run through the county. Custer County crew from the silver boom in the later 1800s, and later hit when the price plummeted. Las Animas, Bent, Huerfano and Baca Counties are mainly agricultural countries now and were in the past, with railroads dictating where towns were located in the Eastern Plains.
