The thrilling excitement and unsurpassed beauty of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games come alive in this state-of-the-art museum. Upon entering the museum, the visitor is surrounded by stunning banner art that decorated buildings in downtown Salt Lake City during the Winter Games.

Displays in the Alpine Skiing section highlight downhill and slalom skiers and show uniforms and equipment used in these exciting Olympic events. Visitors can see Bode Miller's "skinsuit" and view video clips of the competitions on a touch screen TV.

This exhibit tells the exciting story of key 2002 Olympic Winter Games biathlon and cross country  competitors through photos and descriptive text.

The curling competition, held at the Ice Sheet in Ogden, Utah, was a popular venue during 2002 Olympic Winter Games.  Visitors to the George Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum can lift a curling stone used in the Games and guess its weight.

Prominently displayed on the museum's "Ski Wall" are skis and posters highlighting the thrilling aerial, moguls and ski jumping events of the 2002 Winter Games. This exhibit features Shannon Barke's skis and ski suit worn while earning USA's first medal of the Games - silver in the Women's moguls.

This exhibit features the U.S. Women's Silver medal hockey stick signed by all participants. Also on display are the 1980 and 2002 signed Men's Hockey Jerseys.

This exhibit features a stunning collection of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games medals donated by O.C. Tanner. In addition, visitors will enjoy a fascinating visual description of how the medals were produced.

Welcoming visitors to the George Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum are the bigger-than-life buffalo, beaver, horse, and eagle puppets that amazed spectators at the Opening and Closing ceremonies in February, 2002.

Visitors will enjoy watching the video presentation, "Overview of the Paralympics" in this special section of the museum honoring the athletes of the 2002 Paralympic Games.

Over 600 of the 3,000 Olympic pins traded during the Games make up a "must see" exhibit at the exit of the museum. Set in the design of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games logo, this display catches the interest of visitors, young and old.

Relive the thrills and beauty of the figure and speed skating events in this area of the museum. Video clips show highlights of the competitions and models display Timothy Goebel's medal winning figure skates and costume.

This exhibit features the skeleton helmet worn by Gold medal winner, Jimmy Shea, and sled from Gold Medal winner, Tristan Gale. An additional exhibit features Luge silver medalist Brian Martin's spiked gloves.

Snowboards used in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and autographed by athletes are displayed in the Snowboard area in the museum. Visitors will see uniforms worn by snowboard competitors and video clips of the thrilling competitions.

Upon entering the George Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum, visitors can hold the official Olympic torch high and have their picture taken before a backdrop of the flaming Olympic cauldron.

An army of 26,000 trained, efficient volunteers made the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games one of the most welcoming and successful of all Olympic venues.
