Several significant severe weather events occurred on Feb. 5, 2008. A long-track supercell moved northeast from Tennessee across Calloway, Trigg, Christian, and Muhlenberg Counties. Surveys were conducted all along the track of the supercell. 

Below is a loop of the Fort Campbell (Hopkinsville) radar as the supercell tracked northeast across Trigg and Christian Counties around 7 P.M. The supercell passed just northwest of Hopkinsville.

Other significant damage occurred in southeast Missouri, including Ripley and Butler Counties. A damage survey has been conducted in Ripley County.

Other areas of significant damage occurred in Jefferson County, IL and Carlisle County, KY. A survey of the damage in Jefferson County revealed straight-line winds.

A total of 36 polygon (storm-based) warnings were issued, which corresponded to 97 county-based warnings. The total number of county-based warnings for the week was 209, counting over 100 warnings issued on January 29. These totals are for severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings. Flash flood warnings are excluded.
