Christian prophecy for the church and for the nations from a servant of God called to speak God’s word

The NAR’s Fairy Godmother? Jane Leade & The Philadelphian Society

‘NOLR History’ has made some very interesting observations on another post, important enough, I think, to be flagged up and made into a post of their own.

“[The New Apostolic Reformation] belief that “God is restoring the office of Apostles and Prophets.” … can be traced to the “1679 Prophecy” by the occult Christian Kabbalist sect called the Philadelphian Society. The Philadelphians believed in the Kabbalah doctrine of “Gilgul” or the Transmigration of souls. They believed that the souls of ancient Israel would reincarnate into their genetic descendants, which include to souls of the *original* apostles and prophets.

Mike Bickle, Bob Weiner, John Wimber, Bill Hamon, Rick Joyner, C. Peter Wagner and all the many Latter Rain “Apostles and Prophets” get their “Apostolic Authority” through doctrines of reincarnation and it is because of this that *ALL* of the Latter Rain “Apostles and Prophets” can be rightly labeled “occult” in both senses of the word i.e. 1) hidden and 2) inherently evil.

Classic Latter Rain doctrine, including fasting [is propogated through IHOP]. The young IHOP participants/members are indoctrinated and then “married to Jesus” en masse through Bridal Mysticism rites carried out in their large and frequent gatherings named “The Call”, “OneThing”, “Friends of the Bridegroom FOTB” Prophetic and apostolic training.

What Bickle, Joyner and the rest of the Latter Rain leaders are quite about is that they believe they are the “Corporate Christ” or “Many-Membered Manchild” and that the 10s of 1000s of youth who have already gone under the “Bridal Canopy” to be “Married to Jesus” have unwittingly been theosophically tricked into marrying the leaders themselves!!!! Now you know what these people really mean by “elected-seed.”

Just like the classic Greek Mystery Schools of old, including Freemasonry, Rosicrucians and Mormons, the New Apostolic Reformation NAR needs warm bodies to carry forth their New World Order NWO and they are duping an entire generation with classic Christian Kabbalah doctrines and practices.

I will give a bit more info to clarify what I stated using the lens of chronology and language of the New Order of the Latter Rain Revival of 1947-1953 that became what C. Peter Wagner et al. repackaged today the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) led by the Int’l Coalition of Apostles. BTW, I must say that these people have laid down a framework and are intentionally moving in a direction that mirrors that of their Philadelphian Society (PS) predecessors. I am seeing this from the vantage point of history. All on has to do to see this is to go to a Big Ten campus library that has the Eighteenth Century Online (ECO) database and download the PDFs of two PS documents. There are many more that expose the history of the PS, but the following two are a good primer to see how it all relates using their own words:

Roach, Richard. The Great Crisis: or, The Mystery of the Times and Seasons Unfolded; With Relation to The late Disorder and Confusion of the Seasons of the Year, and other SIGNS of the Times. With Considerations and Observations, tending to better Understanding the Wisdom of Providence in the Order of the Ages; and as couch’d in the Prophetick Schemes and Emblems : AND Some Calculations of the Numbers of Time, as pointing out the Introduction of the Blessed Age, or Great Sabbath of the World. (London: printed and sold by N. Blandford, 1725, 1727).

“A further Care in the Divided Parties, as such, will be, to remove all Stumbling-blocks, and occasions of Offence out of the Way of their Brethren, to stand Loose to all their Particulars Forms as such, and ready to run into the Embrace of each other, and Combine together into the Unity of That Church, which is to be wholly Re-form’d and Establish’d by the Spirit in a Second Pentecostal Effusion, or rather Profusion of the Latter and Harvest Rains, (with Relation to Church Time at Large;) which are to Increase and abound, and that without Cessation, till they have overflow’d the whole Earth.” p.87.

Roach, Richard, 1662-1730. The Imperial Standard of Messiah Triumphant; Coming Now in the Power, and Kingdom of His Father, To Reign with his Saints on Earth. By R. Roach, B.D. (London: Printed and Sold by N. Blandford, at the London Gazette, Charing Cross: and to be had at the sign of the Peruke next the White Horse Inn, in Fleet-Street, 1727).

Starting my research into the NOLR in 1999, my curiosity of the peculiar language and meaning of terms led me to the hypotheses that somehow the leaders had tapped into the Philadelphian Society writings. Since becoming a Christian in 1975 starting with the Charismatic movement, I’d never heard phrases like, “Manifest Sons of God”, “Corporate Christ”, “Elected-Seed Generation”, “Many-Membered Manchild” etc. etc. Mike Bickle is only one leader of many who have promoted teachings using these terms for well over 20-years. I mean really, you don’t have to go to Harvard to see YouTube videos showing Mike Bickle and his Kansas City Prophet buddies Paul Cain and Bob Jones.

Excerpt from Ernie Gruen’s Report on Bickle’s Grace Ministries in 1990
http://www.intotruth.org/kcp/Abberent%20Practises.pdf:

“I’m going to live to see this, friends, I really believe it. If I can get through this message.. . If you have intimacy with God, they can’t kill you. They just can’t.” (Paul Cain) p.13

Bob Jones (BJ): “Everyone that God has–the Father has called, go under the Shepherd’s rod. As Paul Cain (PC) said, ‘You go under it once a year.’ And I got all the scriptures…

“Yep, it’s all in Scripture. When you go under it, He just turns you upside down and He looks every place on your body. And if you be found alright, He marks you to be sacrificed as a living, holy sacrifice unto Him. One out of ten is marked totally unto the Lord. That’s a Shepherd’ a rod.” (F89, p. 7 - 8] p.89.

CITYWIDE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR BOB JONES, FEBRUARY 4, 1990. From Advertisement:

“We also invite you to join us at KCF’s Grandview Worship Center at 6:00 p.m., February 4, for a special birthday celebration of Bob Jones’ 60th birthday. John Wimber and Paul Cain will be special quests at this evening.” p.95.

Mike Bickle glorifying Bob Jones:

MB: “…But Bob Jones comes again and says, ‘One of my missions in this whole supernatural thing is to convince you it’s real…things won’t be secure until you believe that. You’ll be prone to do this or that or the other that will end up being contrary to this movement if you do not understand that something more than a local fellowship is being birthed…’ And the Lord speaks to us and says, ‘Repentance.’ And He speaks audibly to Bob Jones Psalms 130, that He’d
forgiven us.” (OPH, p. 11, 19)

As mentioned previously, it is also an annual event for Mike to interview Bob Jones for hours upon hours regarding his visions and mystical experiences.

Mike Bickle exalting mystical experiences:

MB: “So a period of time left, and he (Bob Jones) comes back to his body and he’s standing–well, he’s not in his body, it’s kind of like Howard Pitman, he’s still hovering over his body in the room, just like anybody who has an out-of-body experience like that. . .And it’s amazing, almost anybody with a true prophetic ministry is, that’s going to be of a high level, has had visitations in their childhood that were staggering… (P.His 2, p. 6) p. 99-100.

Bickle, Jones and Cain on the “Elected-Seed Generation”:

PROPHETS AND PROPHESYING
Mike Bickle and Kansas City Fellowship’ s promotion of the prophetic ministry and so-called “prophets” is fraught with error and deception. It is damaging to the lives of many individuals, and spiritually dangerous.
A. THE COMMON REVELATION of the so-called “prophets” of Kansas City Fellowship is that KCF is the start of an end-tine ‘new breed” generation that these prophets have seen in visions and revelations before coming to KCF.
1. KCF’S “CHIEF PROPHETS” ALL PROCLAIM THE KCF END-TIME GENERATION.

MB: “But Bob and John Paul and Paul Cain and others have seen a generation not where there’d be a 2-year anointing, but the spirit would be a permanent abiding of the Spirit in the anointing of God in a pure way…” (VM, p. 4) p.116

So where do these people get this peculiar terminology and what do they mean?

After doing a word search, I discovered that the terminology and meaning stem from the writings of the Philadelphian Society. This was around 2001. But, I had to eliminate accusations of the “Genetic Fallacy” and/or cries of “Guilt by Association” but how? I decided to contact the original leaders of the 1948-1953 North Battleford Revival (if they were still alive…). Here’s the three major proofs I came up with:

1) I wrote George H. Warnock an open letter regarding Jacob Boehme and Jane Lead. His written response was that he never heard of Jacob Boehme but he became familiar with the writings of Jane Lead and he believed they were prophetic for the End Times church. So far I’m batting a 1000, but I’m getting creeped out bigtime. I ask God, “What have I discovered? What is this stuff?”

2) I discovered that Benny Hinn and his brothers Henry and Sam are also Latter Rain by virtue of their writings and language. This was 2002. Another early leader was George Robert Hawtin, one of the original “Sharon Brethren” in North Battleford. Though he died sometime in the 90s, he had a newsletter called The Page from about 1962-1984. One of his followers republished the articles as a 34-volume set that were at one time free for the asking. Volume 9 contains extensive quotes from Jacob Boehme and the infamous “1619 Prophecy” attributed to an unknown prophet. The reason Hawtin didn’t know this was from Jane Lead was because by the time he was given a copy of this prophetic declaration, the “7″ was mistranslated as a “1″ and since Lead was born in 1623, it couldn’t have been written by her, or so they thought until the error was discovered some years later. BTW, this prophecy came down from the effects of an English freemason-turned-evangelist name Charles Sydney Price.

3) After the original Canadian-based Latter Rain Revival waned down around 1952-53, it splintered as most movements do. A minister named John Robert Stevens in rebellion to God’s warning, continued the NOLR teachings and formed the Church of the Living Word (CLW). They published an extraordinary amount of Latter Rain teachings in the form of teaching tapes and booklets before Stevens died in 1983. Many of Steven’s disciples back in the 70s and 80s are today’s NAR leaders. Bob and Rose Weiner, Rick Joyner, Francis Frangipane, etc. all came out of the CLW aka “The Walk.” One of Stevens’ “Apostles” was Royal DeWayne Cronquist (1929-1998]. Cronquist laid hands to “impart the anointing” into Bob Weiner’s mind and body on Thanksgiving Day 1967 –five years before he started Maranatha in 1972. Just a few years later, Weiner linked up with the Fab 5 i.e. Mumford, Simpson, Basham, Baxter, Prince and spiritually, economically, and psychologically force-raped 10s of 1000s of college students by using the Fab 5’s religious scheme of “Discipleship/Shepherding.”

Back to “Apostle Cronquist” in 2004, I obtained his writings and books. In one journal he explodes with spiritual exuberance that Jane Lead’s “1679 Prophecy” was meant for him to be an Apostle. Here’s a few revealing excerpts from “Epistles of the Kingdom Unto Royal by the Holy Spirit, 4th ed.” pp. 59-62, (circa 1980s)

EPISTLE 155 - 1985 A PROPHECY GIVEN IN 1679

This prophecy was found in the papers of Brother Charles S. Price after his death. It was written by a 16th century Scribe-Prophetess named Jane Leade, and came into my hands when I was about a year old in Christ [1959]. I bear powerful witness in my spirit to the validity of it’s words.

For the past thirty-two years I have ordered my motivations, attitudes and commitments to do God’s will, including the prophecy’s sayings within my heart with hope. I have added the validating Scriptures, to authenticate it’s verity. The attending anointing of the Holy Spirit revealed the correct Scriptures to add, calling them into remembrance (JN 14:26).

All the added Scripture references are in parentheses. You will have to concentrate and dig out the confirmation of this prophecy in the Scriptures for understanding, but it will be worth your while. Also, I have taken the liberty in God, to add my own commentary remarks and observations in brackets. My prayer is that as you read this prophecy, the Spirit of God will quicken to you it’s relevance and connection to the time we now live in - for it speaks of this generation, not of another.

THE PROPHECY

There shall be a full redemption of Christ (an anointed Corporate Son) (JN 17:18; 20:21; PS 2:1-2; RE 11:1-5). This is a hidden mystery (not to be revealed or understood without the revelation workings of the Holy Spirit) (EP 1:17-18]. The Holy Spirit is at hand to reveal the same to whosoever will be holy seekers and inquirers (JE 29:11-14a; 33:3; HE 11:6).

The completion of such redemption is withheld and abstracted by the Seals of Revelation (RE 5:1). Wherefore, the Spirit of God shall open up seal after seal, so that this redemption can come to be revealed, both particularly and universally (1 PE 1:3-5). In the gradual opening of the eternal, infinite, progressive mysteries of this redemption, does consist the unsearchable Wisdom of God, Who throughout eternity will continually reveal new and fresh things to the worthy seeker (JN 16:12; JE 33:3).

In order to which the Ark of the Testimony in heaven (Jesus), shall be opened before the end of the age. The living (Inchristed) testimony (the perfected Bride/Sons people, Remnant Body of believers on earth) (EP 4:13c, 15; HE 6:1 kj; MT 5:48; RE 19:7; RO 8:19; 9:25-27; 8:29-30; HE 2:10-11), shall be unsealed (revealed and manifested) (RE 6:1; RO 8:19). The Incarnate Presence of the Divine Ark (Jesus completed within) (COL 2:10a), will constitute the life of this Virgin Church.

Wherever this (perfected remnant) Body is (RO 9:27), there must, of necessity, be the Divine Ark (Jesus completed within) (COL 1:15-19; 2:9-10a; EP 4:13, 15; 3:19; 2:5b-6; 1:17-20; JN 17:18; 20:21; 1 JN 2:6; 4:17; 1 PE 2:21). The unsealing of this living testimony (those believers who have risen into His overcoming perfection) (RE 1:7, 11, 17, 26-27; 3:5, 12, 21), this side of death and the Tribulation (RE 2:11, 26-27), being those co-equal Sons (JN 17:18; 14:12; RO 8:17; RE 2:26-27; 3:21) with the Latter Glory (HAG 2:9; IS 60:1-22). These (Bride/sons) must begin the promulgation (announce, proclaim, instruct) of the Everlasting Gospel (RE 14:6).

The proclamation of this testimony (Jesus incarnate within these Sons brethren) (RO 8:29-30; HE 2:10-11), will be as the sounding of a trumpet, to alarm the nations of all professed Christendom (JL 2:1-11; 1:5-17; ZEP 1:14-18; 2:1-3; PS 2:1-12; RE 19:11-15; 17:14; 2:7, 11, 17, 26-27; 3:5, 12, 21).

Authority will be given by Christ Jesus to put an end to all controversies (of doctrines, revelations and eschatologies, of attitudes and motives, of all unsanctified, and unforgiven, unrepented, of unholy, frayed relationships) concerning the true Church, which is to be born of the true Jerusalem Mother (IS 66:5, 7-8 kj/nas; RE 12:1-2; 3:12; 21:2-3, 9d-10; MT 5:14).

His (Jesus - their Qualifier) decision will be the actual, literal sealing of the Remnant (RO 9:25-27) out from the universal Body of Christ (RE 12:1-2, 5; PS 2:1-9; IS 6:5-8 kj/nas; 3:13-20; EZK 9:4; RE 7:3; 14:1 kj/nas) by God Himself, giving them commission to act by that same authority (OBD 21; PS 149:5-9; IS 24:1-6; JE 51:19-23; JUDE 14-15; MIC 1:15; JN 17:18; 5:27; 8:26, 28de, 16, 29; 4:34; 6:38; 14:12; AC 3:20-23).

So, by 2004, I proved beyond beyond any shadow of doubt that several pioneer leaders of the NOLR from which C. Peter Wagner derived his NAR/ICA entity had hardcopies of the 1679 Prophecy from the Philadelphian Society and they all embraced it like it came directly from the Throne room of Almighty God. So far, so good. The final part of my investigation involved the following questions:

Q1: If these early NOLR leaders embraced and taught the doctrines of Philadelphian Society’s “1679 Prophecy” then what did the PS mean in historical context. In other words,

Q2: Who was Jane Lead and who were the rest of the members of the Philadelphian Society?

Q3: What did they believe and in what context?

Q4: How do their writings compare with those of the Latter Rain leaders?

Q5: Are the 20th-century Latter Rain leaders carrying out the doctrines and objectives that were started by the 17-Century Philadelphian Society and if so, then wouldn’t it behoove all NAR/ICA researchers to learn as much as they possible can about the Philadelphian Society so as to decode the bizarre and deadly doctrines and practices being carried out now?

The answers to these questions were historically hard to learn and come by since I had to somehow obtain primary source documents from the 16th and 17th century. In an answer to prayer, I obtained a research partner.

In the mean time, I started to witness that all of the expose’s and lessons learned on this deadly movement were being forgotten by the victims of the 1970s and 1980. They simply were not being passed on to this current generation who, like youth in other generations, couldn’t care less about history. The very same NOLR leaders and their mind-controlled disciples were now zeroing-in on today’s youth and had only changed the names of the very same doctrines and practices to hide their past history. In one sense, this is good since I realized these cult leaders are like a broken record or a repeating message machine. They cannot break out of their heresies. The Lord has literally trapped them in their own doctrines and save for divine intervention, they simply cannot escape. The are like a vortex straight to the Lake of Fire and are sucking 10’s of 1000s into hell with Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Revival being a recent example.

I am making the original claim that by understanding who that Philadelphian Society was and more importantly, what is the hybrid religious belief system of Christian Kabbalah, one can understand the bizarre anti-Christian beliefs of the New Order of the Latter Rain (NOLR), Wagner’s NAR/ICA and forward into the new United Stated Apostolic Alliance now headed up by the illustrious “Dr.” Dutch Sheets!!!!

Of course, there are no new heresies since the 4th century, but this particular one is a very clever amalgam that has been little understood since the 17th century.

Philadelphian Society Writings

The vast majority of Philadelphian Society writings are online here:

http://www.passtheword.org/Jane-Lead/

Since the Philadelphian Society took the Christian Kabbalist teachings of Jacob Boehme and some were known as Behmenists, you will also find Jacob Boehme’s writing on this website as well.

There are two online bibliographies that are important:

Provisional bibliography of English Bohemists
http://www.levity.com/alchemy/boehmist.html

William Law and the Mystics. Bibliography.
http://www.bartleby.com/219/1200.html

In these biblios, you will see numerous documents that are not on the passtheword website. The evidence is within those documents that show the Philadelphians embracing doctrines from the Kabbalah. However, even the “divine Cabala” is mentioned by Jane Leade on the Passtheword website. Here is the excerpt:

Excerpt from A Fountain of Gardens: Vol. III, Pt.1, July 31. 1678. “The Seven Counsellors”

“The Word CABALA then much run through me.

[OK, now can you see what JL has gotten herself into through accepting her mentor's teaching? She correctly identifies the source for the process she previously described above. The fact that she is writing these as visions or instructions given to her from her mystical encounter in the inner Throneroom after she "cleansed" or mortified her mental facilties should not cover up the fact that the other very famous Philadelphian Society members taught her these concepts beforehand. The process of mystically expressing something that was previously gained through formal learning without acknowledging there was a previous formal learning is called "Cryptomnesia." --Bill]

“And I could not tell what to make of it. It continued upon me for a whole Day. But the next Morning pondering upon it, it opened it self thus: That the Word signified to me, the Privy-Council of the Trinity, with the seven Spirits. And Blessed indeed are those that are worthy to be admitted into that Privy-Council; having been for that end admitted into the Refining House, that was shewn me. Which gave me occasion to Pray, that I might find that favour, with some others, that I made mention of, who might be taken into the Divine CABALA. Then it was answered. “So it shall be, when yet more Qualified for it. For know, it requireth special Endowments to make meet for so high a Dignity: which by my Spirit must be performed, to stand in Counsel with me in the inward Court, where the Affairs of my Kingdom are to be determined, and renewed Commands therefrom to be given, with Decrees that my Counsellors (so admitted) shall jointly with me, their Kingly Priest, send forth. For the which consider what manner of Persons ye mutually must be: first in high Sanctity; then, in Wisdom and soundness of Judgment. For ye shall pass Judgment upon all Matters and Things, belonging both to the Old and New Creation-State: And also know things present, and what is yet for to come. For my two great Witnesses shall rest upon you, which are the spirit of Prophecy and Revelation, that shall give Ability, as Princes, to stand in my Council: and therefrom to deliver out my Laws and Decrees. So shall ye be ministering Spirits, to open the Ark of the Living Testimony; that hitherto hath been much shut up. But to the Generations that are, and shall yet be born in the Spirit now in this Age, to whom will be given a seeking and an inquiring Mind, it will verily be opened: to them shall my Secrets be revealed, that is, To such as of the Divine CABALA do stand, with the Ruling Scepter of Faith still in their Hand.” Thus my LORD did most freely commune, and open the Sense and Mystery of the Word CABALA. Upon which obliged we are to attend diligently; retreating therefore from all that Terrestrial is.”

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I chose the scholastic route of research and that meant spending long hours studying the history surrounding the time of the Philadelphians. Knowing the lives of the “Sharon Brethren” North Battleford, Saskatchewan at the end of WWII, I can safely say these young naive men opened Pandora’s Box because they simply did not have the capacity for historical research. They simply looked toward the dawning of a new age where war would cease in God’s promise of the outpouring of a Latter Rain that had been pumped up in writings and sermons from the 1909 Azusa Street revival and through WWII. The Second Latter Rain Movement that embraced these occult writings is what we are witnessing today.

A great general description of Wagner’s “Third Wave” was first encountered during the renaissance. Check out the following book and read the central article:

Popkin, Richard H. The Third Force in Seventeenth Century Thought, (Brill’s Studies in Intellectual History Vol. 22), (Leiden/New York/Kopenhavn/Köln: E.J. Brill, 1992). See the article by the same title, pp. 90-119.

Jeremiah didn’t have to die in vain if Christians take back what the Latter Rain leaders have stolen. Dutch Sheets and all the rest look like they will go to hell, but those who can re-embrace God’s Truth and reject the Latter Rain’s central lie that, “God is restoring the office of apostles and prophets” can be granted forgiveness and obtain healing.

Biblical apologetics must be combined with a thorough understanding of the occult history of the Latter Rain occult movement.

Endtimespropheticwordsnote - I responded -

I know when I was researching the French Prophets and the related Milleniasts of the early 1700s [who are a real forerunners of the NAR/NOLR with the same manifestations which can be traced through the Great Awakening and Holiness movement to William Branham right through to the modern day] and who helped birth the Shakers who also have many similarities in their errant theology and who I also researched into [a fascinating group]. I know I came across Jane Leade and the Philadelphians a number of times who were an influence. I think I will have to do some more digging on them. Here is a connection between the Shakers [of Mother Ann Lee, the divine feminine] and Jane Leade - but I guess you may know this already. http://www.passtheword.org/SHAKER-MANUSCRIPTS/jane-lead-usob.htm

***

I have noticed NAR prophet and Branhamite Jeff Jansen’s reference to the female personification of wisdom and ‘Sophia’ which I knew was right out of Jacob Boehme.

***

Thanks to you I have made some even more firm connections. I have often noted the similarities between Frank Weston Sandford and William Branham - for spiritual warfare, prophecy, healing and apostles and dominionism and spiritual abuse, and other flaky stuff including British Israelism and pyramidology. Have you seen this? Sandford’s place was called Shiloh! And Shiloh links back, see here - http://www.cichurchhistory.com/chback.html

“The Manifestation of the Kingdom of Christ upon the Earth in the Nazarite Sons and Daughters of God”   [http://www.passtheword.org/Jane-Lead/ascent.htm] Is this what Lou Engle of The Call really means? Is he too referring back to Jane Leade?

***

The whole religious belief system of British Israelism includes the “Protestant” Philadelphian Society doctrines. Jane Lead and her followers are premier spokesmen. When JL speaks forward the doctrines of the Manifestation of Christ upon the Earth in the Nazarite Sons and Daughters of God” she is summing up a series of doctrines including spiritual alchemy, astrology, Kabbalah, hermeticism etc. that also mirrors Rosicrucian doctrine. I have good reason to believe that at least some of the PS members were Rosicrucians in the fullest sense of the word. The PS as well as their 21st-century Word-of-Faith and NOLR followers are promoting and practicing all the Rosicrucian beliefs in one form or another however cleverly they are wrapped in Christian terminology. Just as Rabbis who tell us there are four levels of interpreting scripture that result in “levels” or difference definitions for the same terms used in scripture, the leaders of the NOLR can express an outwardly orthodox Christian Gospel while simultaneously believe and practice the Gospel using the Kabbalah and hermetic doctrines as interpretive lenses. This is one of the main reasons why these people are able to appear as “angels of light” and evil manifests through them as well. Questioning the leaders as to the meaning of biblical terms they use is what they cannot stand.

The writings of Jane Lead and the rest of the PS members spells out exactly what they mean and why they believed it. That Chuck Pierce, C. Peter Wagner, Robert Heidler, Barbara Wentroble and many others are teaching Christian Kabbalah in conferences such as Glory of Zion Ministries: Starting the Year Off Right” Conference on Jan. 2-6, 2008 in Denton, TX shows they are finally coming out of the closet with what they formerly hid during the formation of their theosophical enterprise that now has evolved using grandiose titles such as the United States Apostolic Alliance (USAA) “The Next Phase of the [Reincarnated] Apostolic Reformation.”
http://www.usapostolicalliance.org/

(I am shaking my head in disbelief as I right this)

Knowing full well that the Sharon Brethren and others that formed an entire movement on Rosicrucian and British Israel doctrines stemming from embracing occult Kabbalist doctrines of Reincarnation, namely, Gilgul and Tikkun Olam, just amazes me.

Doesn’t God state that he will bless or curse a nation based upon what they do with His Son’s offer of redemption as in II Chron 7:14 as well as turning from their wicked ways? I believe He does and if He does, then Wagner, Sheets, Weiner, Broocks, Hamon, Joyner, Bickle, etc. are bringing down the USA by causing Christians to submit themselves to leaders who embraced the occult doctrine of reincarnation!! We get one chance in life to respond to the message of the Cross. We don’t have the past souls of Israel transmigrating in our bodies to fulfill yet another chance at “perfection.”

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and not the temples of the souls of the original Apostles and Prophets that transmigrated through time and subsequently into our bodies. These hidden beliefs are what is behind British Israelism, Mormonism, Freemasonry and the New Order of the Latter Rain as formed through the North Battleford Saskatchewan Revival circa 1947-1953. We certainly are supposed to treat our bodies with respect and never tattoo our skin and make ourselves a human Talisman such as NOLR leader Todd Bentley. We are never to submit to any leader who not only holds to occult doctrines, but also are sexual perverts such as Roberts Liardon, Todd Bentley, Ted Haggard, Paul Cain, Reuven Doron, Bob Jones, and many, many others within the Unholy Alliance of these illuminatti groups that have now infected the churches. Our very survival as a nation will depend on whether we accept or reject cries for a New World Order from the likes of Henry Kissinger, etc.

Henry Kissinger and the New World Order
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfK0tvk7VNk
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/01/the_chance_for_a_new_world_ord.html

Does Kissinger see the Latter Rain’s infiltration of the church as a sign that because of this infection, now is the time to eliminate the US Constitution and implement the New World Religion of the Illuminatti? It sure looks like that is his plan and Wagner and Co. are doing their best job of playing “Judas Goat” in leading the American, Canadian and European church straight into it by indoctrination into the Christianized Mystery School religions.

They can take their deification-of-man “Manifest Sons”, “Corporate Christ” doctrines and shove them!

Bickle, Joyner, Engle and their whole entourage are pulling from the Rosicrucian doctrines of Count von Zinzendorf [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolaus_Ludwig_Zinzendorf/ ] who was the godchild of Philipp Spener [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipp_Jakob_Spener]. Both of these people, along with the Philadelphians, embraced the Lurian Kabbalah to form a hybrid religion we now know as Christian Kabbalah. Christian Kabbalah can never be the Gospel and its proponents can never be Christians in the same way Mormons, Freemasons, Rosicrucians and other Kabbalist-based entities can never be Christians. It’s time to apply history and apologetics to the current occult “apostolic and prophetic” infection of the church. At this point in time, one without the other just isn’t going to be effective.”

  1. Thanks for this post. II Cor. 11:3 comes to mind:

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

So much of what is being taught by the NAR and their cohorts emphasizes super spirituality, exclusivity and complexity that has nothing to do with the simplicity we have in Christ.

  3. As I have mentioned British Israelism [also linked to pyramidology] can be found in many ‘Christian’ beliefs including in Frank Weston Sandford’s, William Branham, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mary Baker Eddy, Herbert W Armstrong of the Worldwide Church of God/Armstrongism cult etc.

Jane Leade referred to by both John Wroe and Joanna Southcott [who promoted British Israelism and were false prophets] and Leade’s writings are still regarded as important by the Shakers and British Israelites.

Menasseh Ben Israel who was a Kabbalist and also an early “Christian Zionist“, and was a close friend and possibly influential on John Sadler who was an early propagator of British Insraelism. His major work Nishmat Hayim is a treatise in Hebrew on the Jewish concept of reincarnation of souls, Gilgul - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilgul

John Dury, an alchemist, was another friend of John Sadler.

British Israelism became a distinct ideology thanks to the preaching and writings of two men, John Wilson and Richard Brothers [see http://olivercowdery.com/texts/brot1797.htm

Richard Brothers had earlier embraced some of quakerism, and was a colourful character.

From http://www.cichurchhistory.com/chback.html [this is a site that considers this guy great so note this!]

“It was in this period, 1792-1793 that Richard Brothers became convinced that he was the Prince of the Hebrews and Nephew of the Almighty. The London Times dubbed him the “Great Prophet of Paddington Street” (pertaining to the area where he had taken up residence in London). Over the next few years his mission would really take off. Between the years 1794-1795 it is stated that Brothers was visited daily by many people. Of course all of this attention could not go unnoticed by the authorities and again on 4th March, 1795 he was arrested by the authorities to have his writings examined because they ‘have for several months alarmed and agitated the minds of the people (being the crowds that visited him daily)”. He was declared insane (undoubtedly because of his refusal to swear the oath required at the beginning of any court case) and he was removed to Fisher House, Islington, which was at that time a private asylum. He stayed in this asylum for 11 years in which time he kept writing. In 1806 a handful of supporters (for that was all that was left) gained his release and he then lived with friends until his death in 1824. He was buried at St. John Wood where Joanna Southcott is also believed to have been buried in 1814.

J.F.C. Harrison stated that “Brothers teaching was based on a knowledge of Scripture but not dependent on any deep study of the Bible”. Brothers used dreams, visions and divine interpretation to give an inspired pre-millennial message for which many people, academic and lay, were prepared, even if not actively looking, at that time. Unfortunately for Brothers, like many other prophets, an attempt to be over accurate in his predictions could well have been part of his downfall. For example at the dawn of the 19th Century he predicted that the millennium would start on 19th November 1795, at or about sunrise, in the latitude of Jerusalem.

The observations that could be made about the Richard Brothers’ contribution include:

    1. He maintained that the last days were at hand and that mankind should prepare to meet its maker;

    2. He believed that he would lead the return of the ‘invisible’ Hebrews (the lost 10 tribes) to the Holy Land;

    3. He believed that he would rebuild Jerusalem – supposedly in 1798;

    4. He highlighted the British Israel identity theory which had lain under the surface of many British myths since the birth of Jesus – some of which have a strong level of scholastic support;

    5. He speaks of London (as did George Turner and John Wroe) as being destroyed at a future time by earthquakes in retribution for the city’s sinfulness.”

Now Richard Brothers was influenced by John Wroe.

The Christian Israelite Church established in 1824 by John Wroe believe in “the ultimate destiny of the descendants of the twelve tribes of Israel, namely - Immortality in its broadest sense, and the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth.” They held some ‘Latter Rain’ beliefs.

Key to their beliefs seems to be Shiloh - a belief which explains very well what is really going in many revived Milleniarian groups.

From the cic website - [this is a site that promotes these false prophets]

    Who is Shiloh?

To understand the concept of Shiloh one has to consider the person of Jesus Christ from two aspects. Firstly there is Jesus the man from his birth to his baptism, that man being different from us in that He was born of the pure seed of the woman unsullied by man’s seed (that is without an earthly father) and secondly from His baptism when the Spirit of Christ and the Holy Ghost descended upon and covered Him until His crucifixion. It is only from His baptism that He is surnamed Christ.

In the creation sequence in Genesis chapters 1-3, God originally created mankind as dual spirits, “…male and female created he them…”, but not of flesh (for this is prior to the fall) but a spiritual existence. In this balance of male/female everything has its partner. In the Trinity there is God the Father, the Holy Ghost/Jerusalem Above the Mother and Christ the son. Mankind, in this world is a tripartite being containing spirit, soul and body, and as Jesus Christ retained his physical body without it going to corruption (even though it laid in the grave three days) and as Enoch and Elijah who were physically taken to heaven without seeing death, so too will 144,000 members of spiritual Israel be preserved without physical death. In the Millennium those that are saved with their physical bodies will return to the pre-fall spirit state of existence of duo-spirit beings (male and female in a combined existence), but also have their soul and body which they have redeemed.

It is commonly understood that Jesus Christ represented the male aspect of the Son of the Trinity. Shiloh is seen as representing the female partner of the man Jesus Christ. When male and female are united they are referred to as male. Shiloh is believed to be the child spoken of in Revelations chapter 12. The Bible says regarding Shiloh, “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be” Genesis 49:10.

This may sound nuts, but this belief exists in various forms including within the Shakers.

More about John Wroe From the cic website - [this is a site that promotes these false prophets]

The church officially started with a gathering that went for 36 hours commencing at midnight on the evening of the 13th December 1822. John Wroe left the Meeting at 1.00 am to commence his public Mission, which lasted for 40 years (until February 1863) when he was 81 years of age. Members still keep an hour at this time every year in commemoration of the Church’s beginnings, and looking for the Latter Rain of God’s Spirit to commence the promised Ingathering of Israel…. Large numbers of Southcottians, especially in the Ashton-under-Lyne area of Lancashire were attracted to the visitation of John Wroe, and the Christian Israelites grew quickly and of quite considerable numbers between 1822 and 1830.

Hpwever this site http://www.utopia-britannica.org.uk/pages/John%20Wroe.htm tells us a bit more about John Wroe. He was described as “‘a man of peculiar appearance who inspired uneducated and wonder-loving people with a strange fascination’ [Free Press 28 Feb 1874]

“Shortly after a seeming miraculous recovery Wroe started having visions or trances, which were usually preceded by his being struck blind and dumb. During these trances, many remarkable events were revealed to him. He joined the Southcottians at Leeds in 1820 and two years later claimed the succession as their leader.

At Idle Thorpe in Yorkshire, in 1824, he was publicly baptised before a reported crowd of 30,000 and to demonstrate his divine authority he declared that he would part the waters of the River Aire and walk across. The failure of the waters to part for him seems to have done nothing to undermine his credibility with his followers.

In 1830 Wroe reported that he had ” had a comand. from heaven to take seven virgins to cherish and comfort him. ” Three local families duly provided the virgins from amongst their daughters and Wroe set off on a preaching tour with them. When he returned one of the girls was pregnant - this scandalized some of his followers and they attempted to hold an inquiry at which fighting broke out; pews, fittings, doors and windows were torn out and broken, and ‘pandemonium reigned’. Others were prepared to believe Wroe’s word that a Shiloh, or messiah would be born to the girl and great preparations were made for the birth. At Peel Park Museum, Salford, there used to be preserved the magnificent cradle made ready for the Shiloh’s reception, described as a “beautiful little ark of blue silk and gold” and said to have cost £200.

When the messiah was finally born it was a girl - which somewhat threw the Southcottians’ plans into disarray as they were expecting a boy. At this point they finally lost patience with Wroe and he was forced to leave town.

Ashton under Lyne was declared a new Jerusalem and a celestia gateway!

    Prophet Wroe’s Temple

In a dream in 1853 Wroe claimed that the Lord had told him to build a mansion where the Messiah could dwell, along with some of the elect. In the dream he was given detailed instructions on the design of the mansion, but, in the end `Prophet Wroe’s Temple’ was based more on what he could remember of the design of Melbourne Town Hall. The community was opened on Whit Sunday, 1857, ” . . about 250 of the body assembled in Wakefield, from the principal towns in this country America, Germany and Australia, for the purpose of attending the annual conference, and on Sunday morning the ceremony of formally opening the temple was commenced by the entire number; attired in white robes, marching in procession around the grounds in which the edifice is built. They then entered the temple, followed by the prophet; but as no persons were permitted to be present except members of the sect, we are unable to describe the ceremonial observed ” Wakefield Express 6 Jun 1857

    The original site was 100 acres in extent;
“Prophet Wroe’s Mansion . . . . It stands on a fine commanding eminence which slopes gently to the south from which a view of the whole country for many miles round can be obtained. The grounds, consisting of several acres, are well ordered, and abundantly stocked with beautiful trees, and at each of the four corners there is a porter’s lodge, and a carriage drive sweeping round to the south front of the hall. The forcing-houses are extensive and full of vines and various fruits from many lands. The stables furnish abundant accommodation for a numerous stud. The house itself is a fine mansion-like structure with south, east and west fronts; and the principal rooms are said to be panelled with cedar ”
    Free Press 28 Feb 1874

The beliefs of the Christian Israelites were compounded from both the law of Moses and the gospel of Christ. They included the specific claim that full and complete salvation (of `body, soul and spirit) would be enjoyed by a chosen few of the world’s population, restricted to 144,000. These, the descendants of Abraham, would be immortal, and would be joint rulers with God of the eternal kingdom shortly to be established. Their separation from the rest of society was emphasised by peculiarities of dress and diet; especially noticeable was the fact that they never shaved or cut their hair, a characteristic which earnt them the name of `beardies’. ”

Alternative Communities in 19th Century England.
    D. Hardy

The hopes of the Christian Israelites were never fulfilled, for Wroe died in 1864 in Fitzroy, Australia. His Australian followers were so angry they demanded their subscriptions back for he had promised them he would never die. Melbourne House which had been built for all the members of the House of Israel, was on Wroe’s death transferred to his grandson and the community dispersed. For some years after Wroe’s death, a room was set aside with his slippers and a suit of clothes ready should he come back as the Shiloh.

After Wroe’s death the leadership of the sect was assumed by an American, Daniel Milton, who continued to claim that the Christian Israelites had the right to occupation of Melbourne House and not Wroe’s relatives. His campaign for rightful occupation included pasting bills on the walls of the property. The Melbourne house estate remained in the hands of the Wroe family until the 1930s, it was sold in 1956 and became Melbourne House Pentecostal Eventide Home - an old people’s home and since 1997,`Prophet Wroe’s Temple’ has been the offices of Torch Telecom. The Australian wing of the Christian Israelites continued and today has congregations in Sydney, Melbourne, Singleton, Terrigal , Windsor, Brisbane, Kempsey, Australia, as well as missions in Indianapolis, USA, Radom, Poland & Mermansk, Russia.

    British Israelism today
The gospel of British Israelism has carried on. Both Queen Victoria and King Edward VII were patrons of the movement. Today the British Israel World Federation claims some two million followers in Britain and America. British Israelism took off in earnest across the Atlantic when, in 1920, a newspaper owned by car manufacturer Henry Ford published a series of anti-Semitic articles culminating in a book called The International ]ew: The World’s Foremost Problem. The author was William Cameron, a British Israelite. Cameron went on to found the Anglo Saxon Federation of America that has links with the New Christian Rightwing organisations that started to flourish in America in the 1980s. The latest group to use the ideas of the British Israelites is the Identity Christianity movement., which includes such groups as Aryan Nation, the Church of Jesus Christ Christian & America’s Promise Ministries. Identity Christianity, like British Israelism, teaches that the lost tribes of Israel left the Middle East and founded the New Israel in Britain.”

Joanna Southcott From the cic website - [this is a site that promotes these false prophets]

In 1792 Joanna began to have sensations of the “Spirit” where the Spirit would enter into her, and for the period of time that the Spirit had possession of her, she could not remember anything about what she said or did. Eventually she came to believe, through these divine visitations, that she was the “Bride of Christ” or more importantly the “woman clothed with the sun” spoken of in Revelation chapter 12. She gained many of the people who had followed Richard Brothers but had become disillusioned when he was imprisoned for so long in the private asylum.

In December, 1801, was the first such trial of her writings wherein she assembled the “Seven Stars” (Richard Sharp, George Turner, Morison and John Wilson with Reverend Stanhope Bruce, Webster and Foley) [note similarity of the seven starts ideas with Branham's]

Aligning herself with the ‘woman clothed with the sun’ spoken of in Revelation, Joanna also noticed that the text said that ‘she brought forth a man-child’ and the child was to be ‘caught up unto God’ immediately after its birth. Early in 1814, Joanna’s “voice” declared that she (Joanna) ‘in her 65th year should bear a son by the power of the Most High’. Add to this the passage from Genesis 49:10 and Joanna Southcott believed that she was to bear the spiritual child, Shiloh, whose coming would bring in the Millennium. In her “Third Book of Wonders” published in March, 1814, she alerts her followers to the exciting prospect ahead.

Joanna Southcott died on 27th December, 1814, 2 days after delivering the spiritual child “Shiloh”. The child was born on 25th December 1814. The child was born of substance, but without blood. She left many unanswered questions. Being a spiritual child there was nothing for the 3 doctors who were present, or the attendants to see when she delivered, thus adding to many questions and theories being raised. Even the examination of her body after death could not determine, firstly why she had died, and secondly, what had happened to the baby which appeared to have been born but was not present. If her pregnancy had not been real, but had been for example a cancerous growth, as was the case with Mary Tudor (Henry VIII’s daughter) then the growth or tumour would still have been there – instead there was absolutely nothing to account for the stomach distension and the symptoms and signs of pregnancy or the fact that the pregnancy went for a normal full-term (March to December, 1814) and had consummated in a normal physical process.”

George Turner From the cic website - [this is a site that promotes these false prophets]

After the death of Joanna Southcott, George Turner assumed the position of her successor. His message reiterated the imminence of the coming of Shiloh and various dates and prophecies were put forward towards the coming of this event. Unfortunately, none of the prophecies came true in the way expected and George Turner, as had Richard Brothers, ended up committed to a local asylum. Turner had been charged with high treason because of his radical demands for changes in social order (including free postage, abolition of taxes and cheap ale). His term in the asylum at York lasted for 2 years. His main contributions to the lineage with regard to his position in the line of propjets was the revival of Brothers’ concept of the lost tribes of Israel and most particularly the aspect that the members of these lost tribes were resident in the UK and environs (essentially British Israelism.

In July, 1820 he was pronounced cured and released (with much effort being placed in his release by his sons and followers), and on his release proceeded to travel amongst his follower in the UK implementing new procedures and services - one in particular was a form of marriage ceremony wherein the females became “Brides of Christ”.[3] Although the idea has appeared absurd to many historians the fact is that there were still a great many people who adhered to and followed Turner’s ideas. In London at the climax to his missionising and marriage effort, Turner held a Marriage Supper at Westminster for 700 London believers on 30th August 1820 - therefore between his release in July to the 30th August in the same year, the believers in London alone totalled more than 700 who totally supported Turner’s marriage ceremony, and presumably accepted him as a latter day prophet

  4. The Mission of the Christian Israelite Church [John Wroe's] is to awaken the lost ten tribes of Israel to this special inheritance to be the physical Immortal “Bride of the Lamb” and to be the vehicle for the task of bringing them all together at God’s appointed time (Matthew 10:5,6; Revelation 19).

    Sound familiar?

  5. I know wikipedia is not the most accurate of resources but here is something on Jane Lead/e.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Lead

After Jane’s husband died, she had her first vision of the “Virgin Sophia”, the Feminine Aspect of God which [she claimed was described in the Book of Proverbs in the Bible, who promised to unfold the secrets of the universe to her. Leade declared herself a 'Bride of Christ'.

Jane joined a group led by John Pordage an alchemist and Christian mystic. {see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Pordage This group became the Philadelphian Society.

The group held views that were somewhat similar to Pantheism, regarding the belief in the presence of God in all things, and with a Nondualist component, in that they also believed the presence of the Holy Spirit exists in each and everyone's soul, and that one can become enlightened and illuminated by living a virtuous life and seeking truth through the wisdom of God.

The movement flourished until the early 1700s when, with Leade's death in 1704, its membership began to dwindle. It was briefly revived in 1706 when they held meetings with the French Camisards, [the French Prophets].

Leade’s spiritual and literary legacy can be found in Radical German Pietism, particularly in the Moravians under Nicolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf, in German Romanticism, and in the works of Emanuel Swedenborg, William Law and William Blake.[5] Although no longer officially a functioning group, many of the Philadelphian Society’s views and writings, particularly those by Jane Leade, remained influential among certain groups of Behmenists, Pietists, Radical Pietists, Christian mystics, and Esoteric Christians, such as the Society of the Woman in the Wilderness (led by Johannes Kelpius), the Ephrata Cloister, and the Harmony Society, among others.

Around 1694, she became a Christian Universalist, rejecting the “Doctrine that hath been preached of an endless Misery and Torment” which had “wrought little effect in frightening or terrifying ‘em from their evil Courses.” She believed that punishment after death was purgative, not punitive.

  8. The Panacea Society is still in existence. They offer ‘blessed water’ of Spirit which they call the Water of Life. They are linked to many of the above linked names.

    They believe [http://www.panacea-society.org/beliefs.htm]

    The Prophetic Mission

The Prophetic Mission, sometimes referred to as the Visitation, is a series of eight English Prophets, starting with Richard Brothers and ending with Octavia. A brief description of the life of each can be found on the Visitation page. Jane Lead is often regarded as part of this work, but she was in fact an important forerunner to what was to follow.

The Theology of the Panacea Society

The fundamental theology of the Panacea Society is as follows:

    1. The GODHEAD is fourfold, not a Trinity, and comprises FATHER & SON (masculine), and MOTHER & DAUGHTER (feminine). This belief in the concept of the Divine Mother and Divine Daughter was conveyed regularly in dictations from Our Lord to Octavia from 1919 to 1934, and published in “The Writings of the Holy Ghost”.

    2. The Immortal SOUL of Man persists beyond the death of the body to live in Heaven. The Immortal SPIRIT is GOD-GIVEN, and will remain on earth in due time to live in Immortal Bodies. SALVATION, as understood by the Church, is survival in Heaven in a celestial body; REDEMPTION as believed by the Society, is persistence on earth in a terrestrial body.

    3. The RULE of GOD will commence at, and expand from, a Centre, and will be realised by those with Immortal Spirits, who have desired to remain on earth at the Second Coming - thus fulfilling the first request of the Lord’s Prayer.

    4. The RULE of EVIL. The world was ordained to remain under Devilish rule for 6,000 years. The last times are upon us, referred to throughout Scripture as “that day”, “the last days”, “the day of the Lord”.

    5. The MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB. By this term is meant the marriage of the Bride and Bridegroom, implying the return of God, masculine and feminine, the Son and the Daughter, to rule the earth and Their Immortal children.

    6. The PREPARATION FOR THE RULE OF GOD. As the Son of God manifested, taught and died, so has the Daughter of God done likewise. The Panacea Society is concerned with the history and implications of this second Divine manifestation, together with modern Prophecies given during the last 250 years, including those of Joanna Southcott.

    http://www.panacea-society.org/visitati.htm#O

    The Visitation

The phrase “The Visitation” is used to describe a recent succession of English prophets…

The Great Visitation of Prophecy of modern times began after the Fire of London in 1666 when Jane Lead began to prophesy that a new appeal to man was about to be made by the Holy One, whereby at last, the coming of the Lord’s Kingdom in England would materialise.

A Church (the Church of Philidelphia) would be set up in which there would be neither sin nor disease, nor want nor sorrow of any kind, and all to be achieved by what she calls “The Divine Magia,” which would be conveyed to the people by the vehicle or medium of water. Within this Kingdom suffering and disease would be exterminated and sin would be overcome rather than continual repentance.

Her writings seemed so utopian and unlikely to be realised that printed editions of her work are today very rare, but she is now seen as having covered in miniature all that was to be revealed step by step by the sequence of Seven prophets who followed 100 years later.

From 1790, for 2 years, Richard Brothers a Lieutenant in the Navy, declared that the ten Tribes of Israel who had “disappeared” after captivity in Assyria (about 721 BC) were, in fact not “lost” but had crossed Europe and arrived in Britain 1000 years later as the Saxons, Danes, Normans, etc., destined to form in England the New Jerusalem. The two tribes, Judah and Levi, remained in Palestine to be known as the Jews.

Pride and ambition became Brothers’ stumbling block, and the standard passed from him, but he had prepared the way for Joanna Southcott. Followers of Brothers are known as British Israelites.

Born in Devonshire in 1750, Joanna Southcott took down communications from the Lord for 22 years, stating that He was about to redeem the earth from Sin, Sickness, and from Death, and to bring it back to its pristine condition. She pled the promise made to the Woman in the Fall that the results of the Fall would be obliterated by the removal of Satan.

She was ordered to seal up parts of her writings in a secure box which 24 Bishops of the Church of England will be compelled to open in a time of grave national danger. At least two hundred of her major prophecies have come true, including the late Great Wars which were along the lines predicted. She published many books.

Towards the end of her life she was told that she was to bear a Divine Child, the long awaited Shiloh. Her 100,000 adherents made elaborate preparations, but when the birth took place on 25th December 1814, the Child did not materialise (then) for it was the birth of the Child’s etheric body. (Revelations 12 v 1-6). Joanna died of grief and exhaustion two days later. Followers of Joanna Southcott are known as Southcottians.

George Turner of Leeds, an ardent follower of Joanna Southcott, took up the standard in 1822. His writings confirmed that the Child was “caught up”, being spiritual, but would come again as Shiloh to bring the means for the promised deliverance for the bodies of men even as Jesus had delivered the souls.

William Shaw prophesied for two years (1822-24) on the same lines and predicted that serious troubles would arise in England if the country did not rise to her opportunities and rejected this prophetic mission, and that if the Child was refused Jesus would come as a warrior.

In 1824 John Wroe began his amazing work of receiving daily communications whereby a body of persons began to practise the overcoming of sin in place of sinning and repenting. He declared that the coming of Joanna’s Child was to be expected but that Shiloh was a Daughter - the “Daughter of Jerusalem”, and that the Divine Mother, Jerusalem Above has the matter of Redemption of the bodies of men in hand through the Daughter - just as the Father sent the son to redeem the souls.

He also revealed the actual sin of the Fall, which is necessary to the understanding of the work of Redemption. Followers in England and America and in the Colonies still preach and teach that all who seek Redemption must be overcomers. Wroe travelled widely and made an especial appeal to the Jews. Click The Christian Israelite Church of Australia for more information.

(Turner, Shaw, Wroe Group: The Christian Israelites).

In 1875 James White (called James Jezreel) gathered all that went before into a large book called “The Flying Roll”, so that his followers might know the whole Visitation through and through. Followers of James Jezreel are known as the New and Latter House of Israel.

In July 1916 Helen Exeter the Seventh Messenger was Divinely required to take down a small but very necessary set of personal messages of instruction and encouragement to a woman in deep distress who was struggling to acquaint the clergy of the Church of England with the importance of the Visitation to Joanna Southcott. The Church was refusing to listen. That woman was “Octavia“, the 8th prophet, and founder of the Panacea Society.

Helen Shepstone, known as Helen Exeter to her friends

Helen Exeter was born in Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, the daughter of an English general. At sixteen she married Sir Theophilus Shepstone, K.C.M.G., a distinguished lawyer After her husband’s death, she felt impelled to come to England to persuade the Archbishop of Canterbury to open Joanna Southcott’s Box. She joined forces with Rachel Fox and Mabel Barltrop, and was recognised as the ‘Seventh Prophet’ in the Visitation.

Helen Exeter’s life was tragically cut short when the ship she was sailing on, the Galway Castle, was torpedoed off the South West coast of England on 14 September, 1918 during the Great War, just two months before the end of hostilities.

Mabel Barltrop, known as Octavia to her followers

Born in 1866 into a good family, she, yet, could see from an early age that much was wrong with the world. After 2000 years of the preaching of the Gospel of Salvation conditions behind the scenes were growing worse rather than better. Why, she wondered was there no Voice from Heaven for the suffering world as in the days of old?

    Mabel Barltrop (Octavia)

Until she came into contact with the writings of Joanna Southcott and the other prophets to England of the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Here was what she had been looking for - here was confirmation of her own inner thoughts. The message of the prophets told her that the work of Salvation on Calvary, so beloved of all Christians, was well begun, - but only BEGUN, for there was more to be done, far more, before they “Could go out with their lamps lit and with oil in their vessels to meet the Bridegroom”.(1)

It could not be told in AD33 for, as Jesus then said, “I have yet many things to say unto you but ye cannot bear them now”.(2)

But THIS is the acceptable time - this is that time referred to throughout the Bible as “in that day”, “in those days”, “in the Day of the Lord” - when the partial Gospel is being replaced by the full truth that God has set His hand to the final Redemption of the World from all evil. It is in preparation for this - the second coming no less - that the Panacea Society was founded.”

  9. Recycled Christian Kabbalah: Linking C. Peter Wagner’s “Third Wave” and New Apostolic Reformation to the New Order of the Latter Rain, Some Notes:
    ******************************
Excerpt from: Wagner, C. Peter. Spheres of Authority: Apostles in Today’s Church (Colorado Springs, CO: Wagner Publications, 2002) pp. 16-18.

    Some Disagree!

However, there are some who disagree. Back in the pioneer post-World War II days, many highly respected Christian leaders took strong public positions against the fledgling apostolic movement. Whenever the apostolic leaders would make one of their higher profile mistakes—and many of them, in fact, did not finish well at all—the opponents were more than ready to say, “I told you so!” I strongly suspect that the major reason why the post-World War II movements did not carry the day as some expected they would was that the criticism, much of it being based on empirical facts, was simply too strong to resist.

Even today we find continuing criticism of the New Apostolic Reformation. Take, for example, Vinson Synan. Few would deny that Vinson Synan is today’s Number One historian of the Pentecostal/charismatic movement. His book, The Century of the Holy Spirit (Thomas Nelson), is a landmark publication. My high esteem of Vinson Synan is precisely what leads me to choose him as a contemporary representative of what we could call the opposing view.

Here is what Vinson Synan writes: “It is axiomatic to say that anyone who claims to be an apostle probably is not one. An apostle is not self-appointed or elected by any ecclesiastical body, but is chosen by the Lord Himself.”2

The U.S. Assemblies of God, again one of today’s most highly respected Christian bodies, is even stronger in their opposition to the New Apostolic Reformation. During the post-World War II phase, their General Council in 1949 decreed that “The teaching that the Church is built on the foundation of present-day apostles and prophets” is “erroneous.”3 This was reiterated in their General Council of 2000. The denomination declared that the “teaching that present-day offices of apostles and prophets should govern church ministry” is a “departure from Scripture” and a “deviant teaching.”4

    Will This Movement Sputter?

I cite these criticisms, and I have many more in my files, to raise the question as to whether the current apostolic movement is in danger of sputtering like the last one did. I don’t believe that it will, based on four observations:

    1. We have learned from the mistakes of the pioneers, and we are determined not to repeat them.
    2. This movement was preceded by the ministry of intercessors and prophets who are now part of its warp and woof.
    3. The growing library of substantial books on different aspects of apostolic ministry that began appearing in the late 1990s is highly impressive. These authors are building a solid biblical, historical, and theological foundation for the movement.
    4. Apostolic accountability has been heightened by the formation of many units of apostles who are holding themselves responsible to peers for their ministry and their character.

As I see the picture God has given His church a new wine skin and He will be pouring out new wine into that wineskin for the foreseeable future.

Here we see Wagner in his own words acknowledging the 1948-53 North Battleford Revival and subsequent NOLR “Apostles and Prophets.” He re-packages this movement after telling us he identified the parts that went amiss, but granting his stamp of approval on the overall concept.

Wouldn’t one think that a college professor that endeavors to affect the world through a religious reformation would have performed a thorough historical study of where the “Sharon Brethren” and the other pioneer leaders got their declaration that “God is restoring the office of Apostles and Prophets” in the first place? We see Wagner cobbling together from his “lessons learned” the same heresies that caused the post WWII Canadian revival to self-destruct in the first place. The bible says older men are not necessarily wise,

    Job 32:9
Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

But Wagner and all his “Apostles and Prophets” as well as the same who have drank from the same wells and created the Mormon cult could still repent of their reincarnation heresy. But what if they do not?

    Psalms 55:19
God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

So no repentance even after the Lakeland/Bentley fiasco? With the ever deeper descent into hell that the NAR is sucking people into, we should only expect to see more deaths due to false healings, financial fraud via people giving their life savings to the “Seed Faith” pleas to “Give All to Jesus” etc. Already the blood of 10s of 1000s of people is on the hands of those leaders who implemented the “Discipleship/Shepherding” heresies of the 70s and 80s. Now more blood is spilt from the 90s to the present by recycling the same heretical structure albeit more refined and managed then in decades past.

The NOLR/NAR has joined forces with the Dominionist/Reconstruction movement in the 80s and together they are now aligned with Word-of-Faith, Purpose-Driven, and Emergent Church movements, which include the alchemystical experiments of Alpha, Promise Keepers, etc. All together, this forms the cocktail held in the cup of the end-times Great Whore and God will cause all who continue to fornicate with her to drink this hermetic/Kabbalist “fluid” from “the river” until they will never be able to repent and wind up in the Lake of Fire. IHOP, MorningStar, Every Nations, Vineyard, Christian International, Branham’s followers, appear to now be drinking from the views seen on YouTube and other places,

  10. God Bless America?
    God Bless Latin America?
    God Bless Canada?
    God Bless Europe?

If God blesses any nation, whether it be economically, spiritually, culturally, academically, etc. it will have to coincide with how that nation addresses what His Son did on the Cross. The purity of the gospel message has been infected with the heresies of pluralism, multiculturalism and other “isms” where the unsaved are remaining unsaved because they recognize the historical gospel when they see it. I believe the economic downturn we are currently seeing could coincide with the current false gospel message being exported around the world by false church leaders. There is a heavy price to pay for embracing the Kabbalist and hermetic doctrines that have now raised their evil heads in many countries. The carriers of these doctrines have always been there, but church leaders:

    1) Forgot or never learned history
    2) Became members of the very entities that seek to tear down the church. It has been established that many members of the Church of England are freemasons and I have met freemason pastors here in the USA. Ecumenical talks between Mormons and NOLR (Christian Kabbalists) and Roman Catholics (Christian Mithraists) have resulted in an attempt to reconcile theological differences through syncretism of theology, practice and mission.

  11. Wow, thank you, Miriam, for highlighting this information from “NOLR History” in a separate post. This is an incredible resource, and helps to tie some loose ends together regarding the roots of the NAR, Latter Rain/Voice of Healing movement of the 1940s/1950s, etc.

If it’s OK, I’d like to address a personal question to “NOLR History.” Are you based in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area? I have reason to believe that you met a friend of mine here (his name is also Adam, like mine) in September 2008 at The Hot Spot in Dinkytown (where Brandon Barthrop “ministers”). Your conversation had a monumental impact on Adam at the time (I understand it was rudely cut short by Mr. Tolo). Adam relayed this to me when I providentially connected with him shortly after your meeting.

The first tip-off that you’re very likely the same person whom Adam met was your use of the phrase “New Order of the Latter Rain,” as this stuck out in his mind. He mentioned the name Bill, and I saw that you identified yourself as Bill at one point in the article above. I did a quick search and came across some of your postings (if I’m correct) back in 2006 on http://www.factnet.org. In one posting you mentioned that you’re based in Minneapolis/Saint Paul.

In any case, if you’re indeed here in Minneapolis, I’d be very interested in meeting you at some point. Miriam, you have my permission to pass along my email address to “NOLR History” if all of the above is confirmed to be true. Thanks.

  12. I note that Robert Ricciardelli has a quote from William Law on his home page. Law translated Boehme’s work and promoted it, as well as writing some of his own stuff.

    Comment by endtimespropheticwords | February 12, 2009

  13. William Law and Jacob Boehme

A 4-vol series called “The Works of Jacob Behmen” was published in 1765. If you had an original copy, it could fetch $17K. Today, you simply go to your Big Ten University Library like the University of Michigan and download them for free. The English savored these Christian Kabbalist writings when Boehme’s writings were translated circa 1650, just before the London-based Philadelphian Society was formed. The Philadelphians went further with the application of Boehme doctrines in that they formulated new doctrines after a series of think-tank type meetings. This is how the “Sixty Propositions” came about from which the “1679 Prophecy” was derived dealing with the restoration of the Melchisedeck Priesthood aka the “Corporate Christ”, the “Many-membered Manchild” etc. etc.

It appears that many, many heretical groups have come and gone that were started by people who have read PS writings believing them to be divinely-inspired. Jane Leade’s writings are “spiritually attractive” in that they are:

    1) written in Elizabethen english like the KJV
    2) They are defining and thought-provoking
    3) They tap into the experimental and the experiential because in the renaissance-era in which they were written, spiritual alchemy, hermeticism and millenarianism coincided with prophecies of the dawning of a New Kingdom Age. The theosophical nature led the reader to hope for Peace and Order.
    4) They are historical and refer many times to countries and leaders and how their disposition
    5) Feminist leaders point to Jane Leade’s writings as being an avante guard forerunner for Women’s Liberation. Sadly, JL was hoodwinked into sorcery, alchemy, witchcraft and spiritism, but that doesn’t stop the current feminists from embracing these writings as their own.

    This following are rhetorical questions.

Q1: Does the NAR/ICA parrot the same PS objectives?

Q2: Did the Philadelphians experience the same type of spiritual manifestations as their 21st-century followers that promote wholesale the “Third Wave”, the “Revival” , a New Order led by a new class of spiritual elite leaders?

Q3: Did the Philadelphians and Behmenists promote ecumenical convergences and a New Age using “Love” and “Unity” as themes. Was truth sacrificed then as now?

Q4: Does the peculiar language and etymology used by JL and the PS correspond to that used by their 21st century followers? Did the Philadelphians couch the names of heretical doctrines in the same way Joseph Smith couched the doctrine of reincarnation as “probations” or the Fab 5 repackaged mind control (thought reform) as “Discipleship, Shepherding”?

Q5: How did the members of the PS respond when challenged by orthodox Christians of their day. When letters were written to the leaders, did they repent and disband or did they simply feign a temporary reception to correction, but later rewrite their theosophical doctrines and declarations; promoting the same thing in a modified package? How did they respond when the civil authorities stepped in after public disturbances and criminal charges were levied? Did they lie in their court trials?

Q5: Were there any sexual-related allegations by the leaders that related to the heretical spiritual beliefs?

Q6: Did they plagiarize heresies and re-package them as God’s “New Thing” using twisted scriptures to back them - then and now? Did the Philadelphians tap into extra-biblical books that led them to their conclusions about the restoration of the apostles and prophets and the dawning of a New Kingdom Age and on toward a New World Order (NWO)?

Q7: What were the Philadelphian beliefs and doctrines relating to where a soul comes from, where it goes, what it is, etc? How does that relate to their 21st-century followers.

  15. I did some more digging and I found out that Richard Roach, leader/spokesman of the Philadelphians [whose works NOLR cited above] officially became a ‘French Prophet’ in London - but left in 1712 with a former Quaker after a disagreement with then. Many other Philadelphians also became involved with the French prophets. [The French Prophets had false spiritual manifestations just like Toronto - it is not new].

Numerous people with both groups variously claimed to either be giving birth to the second Jesus in their offspring, or increasingly more populary was the claim they were the female manifestation of Him/God - Mother Ann Lee of the Shakers the most famous of these [the Shakers came through the Wardley Society which came through the False prophets]. Another common claim was for people to claim they were the woman clothed in the sun in Revelation. At one single time at least five women were all claiming to be that woman! And John Lacy and his mistress Elizabeth he had been ‘called’ to leave his wife for - who liked to preach naked in central London - were believing their offspring to be the messiah.

  16. It was the merger of French Prophets and Philadelphians that first instituted a “love feast” which The Moravians of Count Zinzendorf later took up - who were also directly influenced by both groups. Note that the Latter Rain YWAM has “love feasts”. This is perhaps just one more pointer back to its roots.

  17. Ann Steed had for years been announcing in Quaker meetings that Christ was to appear in England, and now said that Christ’s return was ‘by Christ’s glorious appearance in and upon the French prophets’. This is no different at all to Latter Rain Manifest Sons.

Sometimes rather than a ‘corporate Christ’ in the body of the church, an individual claimed unique status as the embodiment of Christ. Between 1708 and 1712 there were six schisms within the French Prophets, all led by women. In at least two of these case, the women claimed special spiritual status - Dinnah Stoddart claimed to be the saviour of womankind, and Dorothy Harling claimed to be the woman clothed by the sun in Revelation 12. John Lacy said, however, that he and his mistress Elizabeth Grey were to bear the second Messiah.

The Wardley Society [a Quaker/French Prophet offshoot that became the Shakers] a few years later, taught that Christ’s second appearing would be as a woman. Ann Lee became a member of this group and over time became known as ‘Mother’ Ann, “Mother in spiritual things”, and “Ann, the Word”. It was claimed she embodied all the perfections of God in female form and was Christ manifested and bore the sins of her followers.

During America’s Great Awakening similar errors were found in groups that became schisms that had embraced the manifestations, as well as a belief in sinless perfectionism and immortality.

  18. More links to the Moravians and the French Prophets

Zinzendorf tried to absorb J A Gruber’s Community of True Inspiration into a philadelphic conception of a community transcending all churches - but failed.

The French Prophets also imparted their spirit to Johann Adam Gruber of the Community of True Inspiration when they visited Germany. He thought it very odd and strange at first and thought it demonic, but that he also felt ‘a secret joy’ so went with it. After getting ’some’ he convulsed for 36 hours before prophesying, one word at a time, then two hours straight.

The false impartation from the French prophets, was described by Blasius Daniel Makinet thus; ‘a gentle and pleasant glow which gradually becomes more intense and also fills the external body’. There followed either trembling or convulsions ‘and in the centre of this internal fire the word of the Lord is born’. See how similar this is to today?

Many strange manifestations and false prophecies occured in their midst and the group became very authoritarian demanding unquestioning obedience to their leaders, and a giving up of the personal will and reason (eg their minds just like today).

There was apparent infighting and schisms among the prophets. False prophets were detected in their midst, J A Gruber claimed thus - ‘Whenever a false spirit was present in the assembley, Gruber recieved a warning in the form of ‘an extraordinary shaking of the head and shivering of the mouth’. (Stacey Campbell style?)

In time, notably many of the prophets fell away from the faith or seemingly lost their way.

[J A Gruber crossed to America and became involved with German groups within the First Great Awakening, and The Community of True Inspiration filtered to the Amana Society of today].

  19. Jacob Boehme was very influential on the Moravians and also on early Methodism, creating various schisms. Wesley expelled at least six Behmenist ministers from his English group.

  20. Mystic Johannes Kelpius of the Church of Perfection, Woman in the Wilderness, Contented of the God-Loving Soul believed in a second reformation. He wrote of it in 1699 -

He called it a revolution under the name of “quietism” within the Roman Catholic Church, and under the names of “pietism, chiliasm and philadelphianism” [The three streams?!] in the Protestant church through “ecstasies, revelations, apparitions, chanings of minds and paradysical representations by voices, melodies and sensations.”

The Philadelphians awaited the advent of a new birth and the advent of a universal and mystical church transcending all sects and creeds.

    Kelpius was a Cabalist.

He was helped by the Quakers, the Philadelphians and Philip Spenner of the Pietists to go to Philadelphia to await the Millenium.
