Other engines they produced were:-
2 3/4HP Air Cooled Single Cylinder (360cc) from around 1903
Not much is known about this engine. It must have been one of the first produced by Advance. There is an example of this engine in a complete motorcycle in the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
3 1/2HP Air Cooled Single Cylinder (476cc) 1908
Bore & Stroke: 84mm x 86mm
3 1/2HP Air Cooled Single Cylinder (482cc) 1910
Bore & Stroke: 85mm x 85mm
16HP Air Cooled inline Four (1608cc) 1910 used by Capt. R Scott
Bore & Stroke: 80mm x 80mm
This engine had a five bearing crankshaft machined from solid. It differed from all other Advance engines in that it had mechanical inlet valves rather than Automatic. Brown & Barlow supplied the carburettor and Bosch the magneto.
20HP Air Cooled 'V' Four (2290cc) 1909/10 aero engine
Bore & Stroke: 90mm x 90mm
Flywheel Diameter: 9 1/4", Crankcase Dia (over lugs): 11 1/4"
Inlet Valve Dia: 1 1/2", Exhaust Valve Dia: 1 9/16"
Drive Side Bearing: 2 3/4" x 1", Speed: 1,800 RPM
Total Length: 15 1/2", Total Height: 20".
Stationary Engine
Advance made stationary engines for agricultural use. These were exported all over the world
