Crowley Hall was built in the late 19th century and later re-opened as 'The Crowley Home for the Criminally Insane' under Dr. Bernard Leys supervision. It was closed after his death and opened again in 1970 as a Children's Hospital. Eventually it was closed in 1997 and has been derelict until recent renovations. During it's life, the hall has had a number of paranormal incidents suggesting the prescence of ghosts. I've never heard of this before, but there's a site here - Ghosts of Crowley Hall

I lived in a supposedly haunted house called "The Ramping Cat House" near Burford and Oxfordshire as a child. My father was in military stationed in England. My mother swears it was haunted. It used to be an old Inn and she would talk of gypsies and highway robbers and a graveyard not far from our house. Has anyone ever heard of this house? I think it is now a nursing home.

Went to the Marsden Grotto for the first time yesterday. Very eerie place. Went in to the lounge and it felt cold and in one corner it did seem a bit dark. The only thing i came across was in the ladies toilets, i don't get intimidated by spirits as i am a medium/sensitive, but there was a definite feeling coming from the cubicle on the left which i think was locked. I was aware of a very icy draught around me as i had my back to the cubicle door and then out of nowhere it felt as if someone was standing behind me as a shadow fell on the wall in front of me which came from behind me. There was a definite feeling of being watched as if someone big and broad was standing behind me and it was not a pleasant feeling. I left after a few minutes of standing with my back to the cubicle door and felt i could not stay any longer.I told the barmaid about it and as soon as i told her which cubicle it was coming from, she laughed nervously and said that she had heard that it was haunted in the Ladies.She originally said that she would go in to see what was wrong but when she realised which cubicle i was referring to she refused to go in. If you're intrigued go into the Ladies (if you are a female of course).

Great site! just reading up on Marsden Grotto and to just update you further when the pub was closed down someone broke in and stole the tankard.The manager told me this about a year ago,he also told me that up till now he has never experienced anything paranormal,still a great place to visit!.

Great to hear something about the Marsden Grotto. I used to work there, and I saw a few weird things happen. Some staff say that they have seen the Ghost, but I never did. The Grotto, has been taken over a few times, it's now owned by a company called 'London & Edinburgh Inns'. It's a great pub, with a unique cavebar, lovely seafood restaurant and a beautiful heated terrace. If you're ever in the area, drop in for a drink, you won't be disappointed...I promise!

my house is hunted by a little girl she runs in the hall way at nite and writes on the wall my little brother used to go in trouble for it but it happend when we went on holiday and she sits on the top of the sairs humming to herself so my mum did some research on the house and this little girl got raped in the hall in 1903 and then they throw her down the stairs we recently move from the house !!!

Hi there, I used to live at Friary Court, in Southfleet, between 1982 and 1997, and although i never had a confirmed sighting, there was always weird stuff going on.
The weirdest thing to ever happen was when i was messing about with my cousin, taking photos in the dark, we were only about 12 at the time (i'm 23 now). When we developed the photos, in one of them, there was one of my toys, suspended in mid air in between me and my cousin....as you can imagine, we were both freaked at the time. We checked it and there is no way the toy was being thrown, because it was not blurred at all, and it wasn't a double print either, because the place where the toy usually was, it wasn't there...weird huh. To this day, my cousin still has the picture and we still don't know what to make of it.....
