The Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch (MCA) is working on a new project that may surprise some fans: In June, Yauch makes his feature-film directing debut with Gunnin' For That #1 Spot, a documentary about the nation's top high-school basketball players.

The movie blends footage of young players with hip-hop and jazz beats, and you can see a short preview on YouTube. Yauch writes on the Beasties' blog that you should check Oscilloscope's site for updates.

Gunnin' opens June 27 and features NCAA All-Americans Michael Beasley and Kevin Love, among others.
