For years now, there has been a great tragedy taking place in fantasy worlds all over in the game of Neverwinter Nights. Spellcasting wizards and sorcerers, those masters of great power, had to carry all their own gear (or worse, rely on a whiny meat-shield or henchman to do it).
As of today, that unfair burden has been lifted from the shoulders of those spellcasters. Finally to NWN comes...tenser's floating disc!
Yes, that single purpose spell from decades of D&D has made it to NWN.
Included in this file is almost everything you need to add this spell to your own NWN module or PW:
- a hak file containing all model files, appearance.2da (from CEP 2.0), spell icon, and scroll icon
- an erf file containing all of the scripts (fdisc_*), creature blueprint (using the blue disc), and creature item blueprint
- a readme file with further information (for the spells.2da and tlk entries)
The hak file contains models/textures for 7 different colored discs (see the screen shot). The spell is set up to use the blue disc, but you can always change it if you want to (Aenea's version of the spell will enable casters to toggle a color, random colors, or alignment-based color). It's a really basic creature model, but exactly what the spell calls for (and it's my first original, non-reskinned creature model).
For those not using CEP 2.0, the hak also contains the model c_secundus, which I used for the animations (or mostly lack thereof) of the discs.
If you have an opinion or feedback on this, post it here (with a vote would be nice). This is one of the only times the general NWN public will get access to something made for the World of Aenea before it's added to my own game (I'm waiting for the 1.69 patch to come out).

I've seen this in action, very nice worthy of a high vote.

Nice, more old school spells should be reinvented in 3.5e _________________________ -=Jaysyn=-

A great spell. Simple, does what it says it does, and is something magical to do other than throwing damage spells at a target that is still highly practical. A must for any serious mage player.

I haven't been lucky enough to run across this yet but when I do I'll be sure to remember where I found it, great addition!

Vinchenzo made a post here.
Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.
This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:
Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...
Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.
Don't abuse the vote and post function, don't vote for your own/friends stuff just to get a high vote. Don't flame vote either just to be an ass.
There is a voting system for how the points are used, even I forget, but we should follow it (and tattoo it to our forehead, lol)

Wow, I can't believe that there's something that Amethyst Dragon made that I haven't voted on yet!
In all seriousness, I never had any exposure to teh spell - but Dead Jane leveled last night, and it was one of the ones I re-selected (who needs that expe-whatever retreat!). I have yet to fully evaluate it, but so far it looks to be way helluva cool!

I think this spell is great and does what it says ... and has been a long time in waiting for someone to do this for NWN.. the only reason this is not a full 10?.. it should be a ranger spell as well in my oppinion for those high dex, low str (or high wis/zen archery) bow based rangers.. .. .. an easy change to make yourself to the 2da but one people might want to consider..

All those times you had your arcane caster trudging back to town to sell off his loot at a snail's pace because this most basic of utility spells just wasnt in the game... and there just arent enough points to put into a high strength.
Now your caster levels can be used to "mule" your loot! Finally!

Excellent addition to a module. Works well, although I haven't tested the dispelling part of the script yet.
Futures Suggestions:
1.) Allow the disc to be pickpocketed, if it isn't already. Use the casters Spot score for the DC.
2.) Figure out how to show a placable treasure model on top of the disk when it's not empty. The treasure model should chage depending on the wieght of the discs inventory.
3.) A switch to change the behavoir of the disc when the caster dies, i.e. either it's current behavior or if the switch is set, the disc vanishes & the treasure (or a percentage of it) hits the ground.
Thanks for another excellent addition to NWN. _________________________ Heatstroke
When the duration ends or the disc is dispelled, all the loot is put into the caster's inventory (anything that won't fit drops to the ground). If the caster is killed, nothing happens to the disc...it will remain in it's current place until the caster comes back.
If the caster respawns from death, the disc will still be there. If the caster ends up in another place after death (perhaps a custom death plane), the disc should be there too, as it is a follower of the caster and should automatically transition with the caster. If this behavior is not desired, it should be something that can be altered in your module's player death script.

Ok, so when the disk gets dispelled does all the loot that you had on it drop? What about when the caster gets killed? _________________________ Heatstroke
