It's time again for a Learning Tree Farm Annual Tradition to benefit children's programs!
Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Carillon Park from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admission is FREE - Appraisals will be done by Professional Appraisers and will cost $5 per item (limit 3 items per person)

Each spring, the Miami Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America conducts a Food Drive in the communities throughout the five counties in Ohio served by the council.
Collection bags will be distributed on March 14th and collected on March 21st to be distributed to local food pantries.

This is to recognize and reward young women from high school to age 25 doing outstanding service. The women selected will each be awarded $500 scholarship. They will be recognized and presented with their awards at the Womanline Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show on April 25, 2009.

More than 350 guests will join event chairs, Joey and Natasha Williams to honor Thomas G. Thornton, MD of Miami Valley Cardiology.
Awards presentation, fine food, dancing, entertainment and silent and live auctions. Proceeds to support the association's research, education and advocacy programs. throughout the Miami Valley.

For over 25 years, the Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter, has provided support services to local individuals and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Research is ongoing and donations are needed to help with researching a cure. CPA'S TO PREPARE TAX RETURNS FREE OF CHARGE FOR OHIO'S DEPLOYED TROOPS:


Military families have enough worries, especially when a family member is away on active duty. To ease the burden of tax preparation for those left at home, The Ohio Society of CPAs will launch its annual "Operation CPA" program for deployed military families

From January through April, certified public accountants throughout Ohio will prepare 2008 tax returns Free of Charge for military personnel who are permanent residents of Ohio and currently deployed outside of the state.

Money-Burge Act - Emergency Contact:

On August 7, 2006 David Christian Money was killed in an auto accident, rather than being notified by authorities, his mom was told over the phone by a hospital chaplain that her only son was dead.

Carmella, David's mom, set out to create a bill that would notify the next of kin immediately, making it possible for family members to be with their loved ones right away. After ac year the Money-Burge Act was Signed by Governor Strickland May 1, 2008, allowing emergency contact information to be readily available for law enforcement in the state of Ohio.

By donating your old cell phone to Artemis Center, you can save a life. As a way to assert control, abusers often deny cell phone access to their partners. With the help of Verizon’s HopeLine program, victims of domestic violence receive refurbished cell phones to be used as 911 emergency phones. These phones are critical to the safety of Artemis Center’s clients. Used cell phones can be dropped off at Artemis Center Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
