Harris targets race wins with Hydrex |
Karl Harris has signalled his determination to break his British Superbike race win duck in 2009 as he gears up for a return to the Hydrex Honda team.
Harris has started 111 BSB races since he made his debut back in 2000, but while he has shown front running pace on occasions, he is yet to call himself a race winner at this level.
Nonetheless, with a troublesome season on the Rob Mac Racing Yamaha now firmly behind him, Harris is ready to perform with Shaun Muir's Hydrex outfit, the team with whom he raced for two years ago.
Speaking at the launch of the team's bikes for 2009, Harris insists that the only person he needs to beat is himself…
“I'm really looking forward to this season,” he said. “Its great to be back with Shaun and his team and the new facility gives us an edge over most other teams I am training harder than I ever have before. There is only one threat to this season for me and that's Karl Harris. Ask me what my aim is this year and there is only one answer,.. to win ”
Harris will be joined by former MSS Discovery Kawasaki rider Stuart Easton, who penned a deal with Hydrex after taking them to victory in the 2008 Macau Grand Prix. He is delighted to be joining Harris and also Guy Martin, who will represent Hydrex on the roads this year.
“I enjoyed working with the team out at Macau and getting the win there made it an easy decision to stay for this season. I am looking forward to both the BSB and road racing this season and its great to have Guy Martin and Kari Harris along me.”
