RIBBING TECHNIQUE

I use a ribbing technique in some of my designs that is hard for some people to understand. Since the project I'm working on right now uses this ribbing, I decided to take pictures of it as I make it. The stitch count in the pictures is just for the project I'm working on now, it will probably be different in any other projects, but the technique is the same. Click the picures to enlarge.

Thanks so much for the ribbing technique. I had to pass up a wonderful baby outfit because everything was crochet except the ribbing at the wrists and ankles which was knit. You're great for sharing all your great talent!

hello Dot I just wanted you to know that this is the easiest ribbing tecnique I have ever come across usually most patterns call for the front and back post double crochet which I'm not to good at doing Ive tried and tried and still can't get it so I always stay away from patterns with the front and back post stuff thankyou so much your so amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

It's so funny I found this today... I searched and searched yesterday for the best way make ribbing, couldn't find anything, and finally decided to just wing it. I just happened upon your page today, and lo and behold! Fortunately, we think alike, as that is how my ribbing turned out, but I'm so glad I finally found the right tutorial for it!! Thanks for posting and keep up the good work!

Hi Mary, sk = skip. I don't know what you're asking me to do. "write like you do your patterns"

what is the sk- also can you write like you do your patterns so that I can print it out. I am trying to make a chemo cap that is done in rounds and has ribbing around the face part. do you already have a pretty easy pattern for this? I am a beginner. Thank you. Mary

You're welcome, Vigilant20, isn't that the neatest thing. I like it so much better than the front/back post ribbing I've seen before.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I had no idea you could do it like that!
