The Virtual Keyboard

Posted on May 11, 2004 01:40 PM by Joel Comm

A few months back, I heard about a new gadget that was due to come out this spring. It is called the Virtual Keyboard, and it is made by a company called IBiz Technologies.

The virtual keyboard (VKB) for your PDA uses laser and infrared technology to projects a full-size keyboard onto any flat surface. As you type on the laser projection, it analyzes what you're typing by the coordinates of that location.

Unlike the clunky snap-on keyboards (which I have refused to purchase), the VKB has a full-size QWERTY keyboard including Function keys. It is also smaller and more convenient to use than the folding-type keyboards made by some manufacturers and similar to them in functionality.

This is a very promising product and may be a huge hit for IBiz Technologies. They are a publically traded company on the OTC Bulletin Boards (IBZT.OB).

I am expecting a review unit of the VKB by the end of the week, and intend to post my review here.

If you own a PDA, you may want to snap one of these up. They are just now shipping to stores across the nation.
