New-look

hello, hello.  we had a truly amazing weekend in colorado... standing under the shadow of the mountains is a very spiritual experience for me, it was beauty divine.  i am happy to announce that the new fieryeyed photography shop is now open.  to make framing of the prints easier, i am now offering 8x10's - the image itself is an off-set 6x6 and each print is signed, titled and numbered just under the image itself.  in celebration of the new look, i am offering to my readers a 'buy one get one free' on all 8x10 prints just until friday - just note your choice on the comments section at check out.  the last of the note cards are also marked down - thank you all for your continued support and i hope you enjoy the new work...

Weekend

good thursday friends.  we were to head out to visit some friends for the weekend in boulder tomorrow.  however, as i am a little too superstitious to drive through a snowstorm on friday the 13th - we are heading out this afternoon to get in front of the storm.  i hope you have a lovely weekend; spend valentine's with someone you adore - your other half, your children, your puppy or yourself - just be good to those you love.  and thank you to everyone who supported the fieryeyed print sale - the turnout was overwhelming - all orders placed by 7 february shipped yesterday - the remaing will ship on tuesday - i hope to open the new shop next week.

love & be loved... jla

Sale

for a very belated new year sale.  i have decided to keep the inventory in my shop smaller and a bit more exclusive as new prints will only be offered in sets of 5 of each size.  in anticipation of the change, i am permanently retiring quite a few 8x8 prints that are currently in the shop.  i have also marked them down from $35 to just $15.  this sale will only last through next tuesday - there are also just two calendars left...

here's to things to come!

Monday

i hope you had a lovely weekend.  last night we screamed and jumped up and down a lot; my husband is from the pittsburgh area and needlesstosay, it was a good night for the steelers.  i would love to start the week with some link love:

~ my girlfriend recently introduced me to the work of kate breakey.  she paints over her own photographs and her 'small deaths' collection includes some of the most haunting and simultaneously heartbreaking imagery i have ever seen;

~ listening to:  blue foundation, franz ferdinand's latest - so much better than anything they have ever done; and sleepy sun;

~ dreaming about spring and green eternal;

~ i think i would like to be a wandering gypsy girl when i grow up;

~ crushing on the purcell's;

see you soon...

Birthday

a very happy birthday to nectar & light.  this has been such a blessed and wonderful year and i thank you all so much for being such an intricate part of it.  it was rather selfish of me to ask you what your favorite posts have been; but i was touched by the responses - your favorites are mine as well and it moves me that you have found such inspiration and kinship in them:

i am also excited to learn that the recipes are also popular as i have some upcoming news to that effect.  thank you for a wonderful year friends, and a special thank you to my friend matt who pushed me in the right direction a year ago and convinced me to return to blogging...

thank you again for sharing your thoughts with me... and the winner - randomly chosen from the depths of adie's rhinestone-studded pink cowgirl hat is... hanne!  thank you, i can't seem to stop saying thank you - but the comments in that post were the truest reaffirmation that sharing - and this blog - is so good for my soul...

Giveaway2

next tuesday, on the 27th of january, nectar & light will turn one.  it is hard for me to fathom that it has only been a year - i feel like the connection i have forged with you and the sweet comfort of this space make it feel much older.  in celebration, i would like to gift one of my reader's with something very special.  above are pictured two fine art giclees of two of my polaroids.  they are professionally printed on 8x10 fine art watercolor paper and hand signed and numbered AP {artist's proof} as they are each one of one.  they are finished in clear, border-less frames, ready to hang - and they are yours.  simply leave a comment in this post {by the 27th} telling me what your favorite post was this year and why and you will be entered to win this set of prints.  i will randomly select a winner on the 27th.  thank you so much friends...
