BAFTA Awards Honor Call of Duty 4, Super Mario Galaxy (PC)

While the Mario platformer took the top award, it was the Infinity Ward title that took the most awards for the night.

Last night, BAFTA announced the winners of their video gaming awards. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a major winner, taking the Gameplay, Story & Character and fan-chosen GAME Award of 2008. Super Mario Galaxy won the top award for Best Game, while Dead Space won both aural categories for Use of Audio and Original Score.

Artistic Achievement went to PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet while Technical Achievement went to Will Wright's Spore. Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution was honored in the Strategy category, while Race Driver: GRID got the top slot in Sport. Other winners included Left 4 Dead in the Multiplayer category, Fable II in Action and Adventure, Professor Layton and the Curious Village in the Handheld category, and Boom Blox winning the top Casual title.
