NTIA Home TV Converter Box Coupon Program

The Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has launched the TV Converter Box Coupon Program (Coupon Program), as authorized in the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005.

As of January 1, 2008, all U.S. households are eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes. Low Power, Class A and Translator TV stations are not required to transition to digital broadcasting on February 17, 2009.
