ALAN MAHON has been thrown straight into the starting line up as the Seasiders look to extend their rich vein of form against Southampton.

The on-loan midfielder who joined the club on Tuesday from Burnley replaces Joe Martin who drops to the bench elsewhere skipper Rob Edwards is restored in the heart of the Pool defence in place of the injured Danny Coid, the change sees Alex Baptiste switch to right back.
