ebswift.com Software Tutorials aim to fill the gap for simple instructional software tutorials.  Many tutorial videos available on the internet are too long and cover too much content, or skip over fundamental problematic areas.  Many text-based tutorials are too wordy and leave it to the user to discover how to achieve some of the finer points.  Here, we aim to make screen recordings which leave nothing to the imagination, are targeted, and hopefully get to the point quickly.

The WordNet.Net library is a free, open source .Net Framework implementation of the WordNet library.  This library can be the basis for dictionary/thesauruses, text analysis software and artificial intelligence applications.

WordNetDT for Windows based PC's - a comprehensive freeware dictionary/thesaurus (amongst other things) for Windows based PC's, based on WordNet 2.1.  This is a powerful piece of software which delivers advanced word searching and interactive results.  Perform wildcard, anagram, scrabble®, regular expression, and 'sounds like' searching.  Click on any word in the results to jump to the definition for that word.  Results are returned fully colour-coded, faithfully preserving hierarchical information.  New in this version is searching for scrabble® accepted words with scoring (~209,000 words).  No longer will you need to argue if a word is acceptable in a scrabble® game, just look it up.

WordNetCE for Windows Mobile - a comprehensive freeware dictionary/thesaurus (amongst other things) for the Pocket PC based on WordNet.  This version is updated to use the WordNet 2.1 dictionary.

It has extensive, clear definitions and seems to cover most words I can think of. I was apprehensive about using a dictionary with US spelling, but what do you know, it's got UK spelling as well! For example, both Aluminium and Aluminum were listed together, as well as Colour and Color. Nice, very nice in fact. The program interface was simple, yet powerful enough to do exactly what I wanted. WordNetCE-SP for Smartphone 2003 - the freeware Smartphone port of WordNet.  Use as a dictionary/thesaurus (amongst other things) for Smartphone 2003 devices.  This version brings all the features found in all my other platform ports of WordNet to the Smartphone.  New features include advanced searching: wildcard, regular expression, anagram, scrabble® and sounds like (fast devices only).

Results are pleasantly colour-coded and formatted, and you have the option of toggling word wrap.  New WordNet 2.0 relations have been added into this release which completes the port from a searchability point of view, while bugs have been fixed in searching some word types and in word morphing (where miles is morphed into mile - this would previously return no result).

Enjoy this release, it is an order of magnitude beyond version 1 of WordNetCE-SP.
