Virgin Media calls time on Trouble

Virgin Media Television will close its youth channel Trouble on 1 April, kickstarting an overhaul of the Living portfolio.

VMTV confirmed today that Trouble will close and said it will launch a third Living-branded channel in Trouble's current EPG slot later this year. A two-hour timeshift of Living, called Living+2, will occupy Trouble's slot in the interim.

VMTV managing director Jonathan Webb said: "Our strategy this year is to consolidate our portfolio and develop our powerhouse brands to live on every screen – not just TV.

"These changes will optimise the value of our EPG slots and will strengthen our proposition for our advertisers, our platform customers and, of course, our viewers."

VMTV has already axed Trouble+1 and replaced it with a one-hour timeshift of Living 2.

The broadcaster is also planning to give Living 2 a rebrand and refocus the channel.

Trouble airs shows such as All of Us, That 70s Show and Kyle XY.
