Exclusive Transformers 2 Images
On set with Bay's blockbuster sequel

01 January 2009  |  Written by James Dyer

If there's one film out next year that sums up the word 'blockbuster' it's Michael Bay's monster sequel to 2007's Transformers. It's perhaps appropriate then that Transformers 2 kick starts our big 2009 preview feature in the latest issue of Empire (on sale now).

You can read all about our exclusive visit to the Cairo set of the film in the issue and, in the meantime, cast your eyes down to see some exclusive new images from the film.

RE: Egypt? Pyramids?
Ok, so the fight scenes were a tad blurry, and the best part of the chase scene was Bonecrusher ripping through the moving bus and we already got to see this on the trailor!  But, if you consider that Transformers already had a global ammount of world wide fans, and that the minute a live action version of transformers was was confirmed the production team were being bombared with just about a million email's saying mostly what they wanted, Bay pretty much was up against it from there!&nbs; More

Come on Transformers is definatly NOT dismall and unforgetable.  Bay did an excellect job with this film,  it was lively and well shot!  The Facts speak for themself, if the second one does half as well as the first it will definatly be the blockbuster of 2009! More

More History.
I recently purchased Transformers on blue-ray and was more than happy to discover a option on the bd live menu that allows you to watch the film with a hud. When you watch the film with this hud on at certain point of the film pop up's give you little run downs of some of the history of both autobots and decepticons, like how bumble bee lost his voice, and that the vision of a transformer on mars from the beagle is bumble bee etc. Also the general info that gives more insight into the history More

Transformers is AWESOME.
Transformers are awesome - cartoon or yes, the film. Yes, they went the popcorn movie route but guess what - there's nothing wrong with that. The flick is a fun time at the cinema. Enjoy it for what it is. Those who want a deconstruction of the Cybertonian mindset in relation to homo sapiens can wait decades for a remake. The rest of us will embrace the fact that transformers has made it to the cinema. More

That's where the original drakula (updated to 'Drake', because it sounds so damn cool. Erhem...) came from! Oh no, that was aparently in Iraq, in the good awful Blade 3 film. But to Transformers 2 - If its the same but with more robots and more Bayhem, that'll do. What else do you expect? They're films centred around car-robot toy cartoons. Transformers 1 had excellent VFX and was lucky to have Shia LeBeouf (cock, how do I spell the bugger) show off his light comedy skills. ARE YOU KIDDING?
I'm obviously in the minority here - but Transformers was a complete pile of cack. And even more depressing is that Empire have stuck a great big picture of one of them on the latest issue. Sure Michael Bay's film was entertaining enough - if you were a lobotimised monkey with a bad case of ADS. The rest of us prefer action films that make a bit of sense - films that don't look like they've been butchered and edited by a demented Edward Scissorhands on crack - thank you very much ......
