Self Made Man threw us into the world of Los Angeles in the 1920s. Check out what that meant for our charming costume designer, Amanda Friedland, in a special flapper-themed Scenemaker.

  1. Major kudos to the Mz. Frieland and the rest of the costumer, props, hair, and makeup crew. From the first second the 1920’s footage was shown on screen you knew if must have taken hundreds of hours of dedicated work and preparation. Definitely not your normal TSCC fair. :-)

Speaking of costumes, loving John’s new leather jacket and custom screen printed T’s. Very bad’ss and perfect for how his character is evolving.

Speaking of props, very cool having one of the news reports be on an old record. Microfiche, newspaper clippings, photos, news reals - those I expected. The record - again, a really cool and unexpected touch. :-)

  2. Nice job with the costumes. Also whoever did that voiceover of the newsreel person was awesome. Very cool that you guys got a Thompson!

  4. I second what CoffeeHeidi said - that was a lot of extras to costume and multiple times too! Kudos to Amanda and the costume/props/set design departments for the unique look and feel of this ep! Wish I could have met Amanda at Comic Con this past year, but maybe next time!

  5. Wow!!! Congratulations on your amazing work Amanda.
