I was in attendance as part of Operation Superstantial Truthiness, whose mission was to provide visible fan support and tasty, yet healthy snacks. I've been walking the line in support of the writers. I feel honored that I have been permitted to stand with them. As an actor, without them, I am merely a dumbshow.

Are the actors/writers willing to take less money as actors to help pay the writers more? Isn't the actors' salary just as much to blame as greedy studios?

Danny Glover is a moron, but Tim Robbins is a pretty smart guy and has always backed the union movement. He wrote "Cradle Will Rock" which is about a play ABOUT a strike. I don't agree with him all the time but he has a lot of integrity!

Someone was saying that Stewart and Colbert should go on anyway but they are both writers themselves and would be crossing the line. Yes they have many other writers but they also write too. They are smart enough to do it alone and could but I believe they don't want to cross picket line and are supporting the strike.

I just hope people with night time shows don't get pushed into going back during the strike. They need to stay tough. I know its hard but hang in there. The writers are right on this!

I miss Steve and Jon to but at what cost... we always get mad at congress caving...would we want to do the same for our entertainment??

I thought Colbert and Stewart were supposed to be comedic geniuses. Wouldn't you think they could at least come up with some of their own material? A half-hour show with commercials is about 20 minutes of content. That's a little over 1.5 hours a week.

I had a terrific time at the rally today. As a WGAw member, I was happy to carry a sign and join my peers, and as a member also of the AFT, I was surrounded by lots of other members of the Teacher's Union who recognize this is everyone's fight.

We should all try to stop referring to the strike as "The WGA Strike" and/or "The Writers Strike." Ownership needs to be shifted onto those whose greedy and unreasonable behavior has necessitated the walkout. Here are some suggestions that are out there already, but feel free to float others -- until something sticks.
"The Media Companies' Strike."
"The Media Conglomerate Lockout."
"The Internet Strike" (that one fails to shift blame, but perhaps it will catch on -- the most important goal being to stop having the writers be attached, all by themselves, to the negative baggage of the word "strike".)
