THE Estonian international 'keeper has vast experience in English football having made over 200 appearances for Sunderland and Derby.

He famously scored a headed goal when playing for Sunderland against The Rams at Pride Park in September 2003.

Poom joined Arsenal in August 2005 as cover for Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia. However he rarely appeared for Arsene Wenger's first team and Aidy Boothroyd swooped to sign him for the Hornets in May 2007. His only Premier League appearance for the Gunners was against Portsmouth in the 2006/07 season.

The Estonian number one has been voted Estonian footballer of the year six times. His arrival at Vicarage Road created plenty of competition for the number one jersey with Richard Lee, Poom and youngster Scott Loach all vying for the coveted position.

Poom however lost out to Lee who went on to make the majority of the appearances throughout the 2007/08 season. In 2008/09 Poom started the League season in goal for the Hornets away at Crystal Palace.
