Shuffle's Aoi Nishimata to Draw in Star Wars Book

posted on 2009-03-25 15:55 EDT

Aoi Nishimata, the artist best known for her character designs in Shuffle!, Final Approach, Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~, and other games (and their anime adaptations), has announced on her personal blog on Wednesday that she is participating in the Star Wars Gashū (Star Wars Art Collection) book that will be released worldwide. She is one of two Japanese representatives among the over 100 illustrators participating in the project. Nishimata says that the other Japanese illustrator on the project is a great sempai "in the clouds above" her in terms of stature. Nishimata adds that she is nervous and filled with trepidation over Star Wars creator George Lucas seeing her artwork. According to Nishimata, the book will probably be released this year or in the beginning of next year.

Nishimata made national headlines last year when she illustrated the rice bags and strawberries from the Japanese township of Ugo-machi and made sales jump several-fold.
