Release Date: Oct 23, 2001; Lead Performance: Shania Twain

In 1989, Canadian resort singer Twain recorded 17 tracks for producer Harry Hinde's Limelight Records (11 of which were bootlegged later as Beginnings: 1989-1990). Now Hinde has gone back and added new instrumental backing to all the tunes for a power-pop boost. It's pure cheese, but Twain's big, sweaty delivery hints at things to come. Biggest hoot: ''Rhythm Made Me Do It,'' in which a cop checks out more than her license plate.
