Lead Performance: Go-Go's

Tax cuts and missile defense systems are back on the agenda, and the Go-Go's haven't missed a beat. Judging by God Bless the Go-Go's, the once-huge girl group's new faith-based initiative, it sounds like all prayers were answered. Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong lent a guitar and pen to the single ''Unforgiven,'' and veteran alt-rock producers Paul Q. Kolderie and Sean Slade (Hole, Radiohead) give the record surprising bite and contemporaneity. Can't stop the world, but this comeback comes close.
