We are strongly committed to our role as one of the key providers of health protection training. Our training programmes, based on the expertise of our staff, prepare and support individuals and organisations involved in protecting people from  infectious disease, chemical, poison or radiation hazards, and from new and emerging threats, including new strains of disease or bioterrorist attack.

We offer a wide variety of education and training opportunities at local, national, and international level.  Many masters degrees and professional organisation training systems are supported by staff members who also organise secondment opportunities.


 

Health Protection 2009

Health Protection 2009 will focus on the latest scientific research and its practical application to key areas of health protection within: preventing and controlling infectious diseases; protecting against radiation, chemical and environmental hazards; and preparing for potential or emerging threats to health.

eHealth

eHealth is a new online education and training service for healthcare professionals, exclusively for the National Health Service. The CPD approved online training is funded by the Department of Health and covers the management of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) injuries and incidents. eHealth contributes to a wide range of healthcare professionals’ ability to prepare their response to a deliberate or accidental CBRN incident.


 

Chemicals training »

CHaPD staff undertake regular teaching sessions on a wide variety of courses including Masters in Public Health, both postgraduate and undergraduate Environmental Health courses, Environmental Epidemiology as well as undergraduate medical courses.

Emergency Preparedness and Response Training »

The training department works with partner organisations to deliver specialist courses for health care providers and managers. These courses, funded by the Department of Health, help to enable delegates to respond effectively to major incidents of all kinds.

Infections training »

We offer training in to healthcare professionals involved in areas such as immunisation, biosafety, bioinformatics and statistics

Radiation training »

The Radiation Protection Division of the HPA represents an in-depth resource with respect to the provision of radiation safety training.  A comprehensive range of courses is offered, addressing training needs at all levels. Customized training tailored to the needs of an individual company is also available.
