Nottingham Forest supporters have named Chris Cohen as their Player of the Year.

The midfielder beat Wes Morgan in a fans' poll and succeeds Julian Bennett as winner of the prestigious award.

Cohen will be presented with the award before this afternoon's season finale against Southampton by manager Billy Davies.

And he revealed: "When you look at the kind of people who have won the award before - and the history of it - it's very special to be among them.

"The most important thing this season was staying in the Championship but now we've done that, it's nice to get a personal accolade."

Manager Billy Davies said: "He's a player with a wonderful attitude, can play in several positions, has tremendous energy and has got outstanding ability."
