LC? What the? - July 11th, 2004 - By: TheVirtu

Well, right after I made that post about Auto Assault, I went to the forums to see if there were any posts, and there was one post from someone talking about Ubi Soft registering a domain, and sure enough, after checking it out, they did register a LC domain on 5/20/04...this could possibly mean that Loose Cannon may secretly be in development. If we find out that it actually does exist and looks pretty good (and isn't based on the damn console) I might revive this site!

Auto Assault? - July 11th, 2004 - By: TheVirtu

Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? It's been maybe a year since I've even bothered doing anything with this website since Loose Cannon got canned by Ubi Soft for as far as we know. But sometime in late April a new MMO Autocombat game was announced by NetDevil and NCsoft called Auto Assault, and after seeing the previews and interviews and videos, the game looks damn good. If you were really hoping for Loose Cannon, you might want to check out Auto Assault.

You can check out my Auto Assault website, The Auto Assault Outpost at http://autoassault.edgegaming.com or you can see the official site at http://www.autoassault.com

The Epilogue...

It has been almost a year since I have been able to contact the developers of Loose Cannon, and Ubi Soft has dissolved Sinister Games. I was told it was still under development, I have seen nothing at this point, so I think I can say that Loose Cannon isn't coming out anytime soon, IF it ever does.

Loose Cannon was the most antcipated game in its day, it was hoped by many to be just as great as the Interstate Series (Interstate 76, Interstate 82, by Activision©) But after a dim past with other developers that had to give it up due to their publishers, it is a legacy that is doomed to never happen.

This website. the Loose Cannon Connection, has lived up to its promise of saying its the #1 Community Website for Loose Cannon, the One and only LC website from recent searches. And it seems like many of you have seen the same thing, this website is number 3 when searching for 'Loose Cannon' on Google. LCC turns one year old on April 16th, 2004 here on Gamespy, even though it has been over a year if you count the time we've actually been online.

I'd like to give a big thanks to Digital Anvil, for a damn fine try at a game that could have been game of the year material if it wasn't forced to sell the rights to the game. And I'd also like to give a big thanks to those of you who helped me with this website, its been too long to remember who, but you should know who you are!

And if you think this site is shutting down, you're incorrect, the Loose Cannon Connection will remain online here at the Gamespy network, forums and all, so that all of those LC fans that hope for the game can still have somewhere to visit and just maybe one day see the happy news that the game is alive.

Long live the legacy of Loose Cannon
