Libertas announces alliance in Slovakia

Bratislava, 15th May: Libertas today announced an alliance with the coalition of the Conservative Democrats of Slovakia (KDS) and the Civic Conservative Party (OKS), whose candidates Libertas will be endorsing for the European Parliament elections in June.

The top candidate of the coalition will be experienced Slovakian politician Vladimir Palko who served as Interior Minister from 2002–2006, and is a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The list also includes KDS Presidential candidate Frantisek Miklosko, who is the longest serving member of parliament in Slovakia
and came third in the Slovakian Presidential elections earlier this year.

Libertas and the KDS-OKS coalition's alliance is borne out of shared values of freedom, democracy, free markets, national sovereignty and the co-operation of European states within the European Union.

Libertas Chairman, Declan Ganley said: "Our partnership with KDS-OKS is one built on strong ideological bonds, and respect for human rights and democracy. We believe in an EU that works for the people and countries of Europe, and by supporting candidates with such experience we are confident that we can give the EU the change it needs."

Libertas-KDS-OKS will have a complete list of 13 candidates contesting the 13 European Parliamentary seats available in the single constituency of Slovakia. Former Prime Minister Jan Carnogursky is advisor to Libertas chairman Declan Ganley during the campaign in Slovakia
