FINALLY SOME SUPPORT FOR CAIN
The Giants scored seven runs on Thursday for Matt Cain, who had the lowest run support in the majors over the last three seasons (2006-08). Over those three years the Giants scored an average of 3.6 runs per game in Cain's starts, by far the lowest for any pitcher with at least 75 starts over that time. Next-lowest: the Padres averaged 4.0 runs per game in Chris Young's starts.
