The Home Library Service is a free library service available to all people unable to get into the library and who have no one who can visit on their behalf. The service can be used by those recovering from a long illness or from a hospital stay, as well those who have a longer term requirement. All urban areas of the Borough of Swindon are covered by the service.
All types of library material eg: books, audio books, CDs or budget videos can be delivered by the Home Library Service. All library materials are selected by staff at a local library to reflect readers’ own preferences and then delivered to your door by the Home Library Service. Visits are on a three-weekly basis.
Housebound Ticket
If you are unable to visit a library but have someone willing to come on your behalf you could take advantage of our 'Housebound' ticket. This allows you to borrow up to 16 items at a time and no fines are charged should the items become overdue. Requests are also free. Hire charges apply to ‘premium’ videos.
